This looks pretty cool.  Metrodvania / Guardian Legend.  They are also offering a physical version at higher backer levels.

Hmm, looks pretty interesting. The physical copy always makes me a lot more willing to back. Might have to consider this one.

What I don't like is that this failed already twice under another name.... I dunno... they should talk a bit more about who they are and what are their intentions etc...
2 + 3 = 23

So technically Indigogo, not Kickstarter, this semi-all in one disc player looks like it could be pretty nice.  With all the retron/at games/ etc consoles, none tackle CD based games.  This says it will play PS1, Sega CD, TG-CD, Neo Geo CD, and it has Dos Box.  If it works, it's worth it alone just to play TG-CD games without a stupidly expensive system.

After reading the FAQ... I think Shania Twain sang it best: That Don't Impress Me Much.

It's sounds and looks nice but the power/compatibility is just not enough (seems suspicious if not even SNES).
Add N64, Gamecube, Saturn, Dreamcast and PS2, maybe then.
And to play games: Bring your own bioses...

The snes thing is probably just to stay off the Nintendo radar, as the announcement was around the same time as the snes mini announcement.

The thing that worries me about this is the use of open source software.  Open source doesn’t not mean ‘free for commercial use’.  I think the project is going to run into some issues.  It’s a shame as i’d Love to get one.

When I saw this a few days ago I got really excited until I realized it's just a bunch of emulators on a purpose built PC. It's still a neat idea though, and if they manage to get it to support all the systems they list - like the Saturn, 3DO, CD-i, Jaguar and Pippin - I may even pick one up. I wonder if my PS3 Memory Card Adapter could be used to transfer save files from this thing onto real hardware or vice versa. That would make it more appealing.

That thing is one giant copyright nightmare. It's claiming that it's totally legal to do all this because of their google searching for precedents, having spoken to no lawyers. If it was perfectly legal, they'd be supplying the BIOS files for you, but they don't. They tell you how to find them, and that it's all cool, bro

Oh it's real. And they're actually suggesting that you should go out and illegally download System BIOSes to use it

This Kickstarter project is  "orchestral re-imagining of music from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night performed by a live choir and orchestra" by Materia Collective. They released "Hero of Time" previously on Vinyl.
