Retro VGS

I know they didn't use Kickstarter (Indiegogo instead), but I still think it fits in with this subject.  I've been following this since the start.  While I want it to succeed, I just don't have enough confidence to put that much money at risk.  I feel that they've made so many mistakes along the way.  At least they've started to own up to some of those mistakes and they are calling the current campaign dead.  It looks like they are going to try and fix the issues that people were complaining about and start over.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is that a lot of the momentum that was generated when this project first hit the internet is gone now.  I'm not sure that there is not enough consumer confidence to make this project work.

This FAILED horribly.  There were about a hundred things that could contribute to it's failure, and while I'd love to see a cartridge based system producing new games, I don't think it'll garner enough interest even if they make a working prototype next time.  I think there's only a few hundred of us that would be interested in it to the point of putting hundreds of dollars into it.

On the other hand, I'm getting nervous that Allison Road won't have enough backers!  I'd LOVE to see that game come to fruition!
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

I would love to see the Retro VGS succeed, but how can it?  It's basically an OUYA that uses physical media.  While we all love physical media, we have to accept that it's more expensive, especially for the indie developers.  If the OUYA couldn't survive with a cheaper media format, how can the VGS?
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'm very happy to see that Cosmic Star Heroine will be getting a physical disc copy on PS4.

I've been following this in other forums.  It's been pretty crazy.

NULL/VOID - Your source for retro games?.
that would be a few shops, or friends.
i don't have issue with KS as a concept, but it was clear the system would be abused, like gofundme and patreon.
....
it's this simple, do as system3 did. (for an unrelzd amiga putty game, that ended up on recent console)
put up the items and leave it with the users, it WILL get a resounding YES in the end.
...
indie isn't what it's sold as nowadays, nor is retro.
too corrupted by the retail industry, and it's a lonely hobby, one i'll guard jealously from the prying eyes and thieving hands of the subservient SHEEPLES!  ;D
...
no trust for those i can't see in person, in face.
1/1 dealings with the developers (fuck publishers or funders) or i'm out, simples!  :P
