I know legal is hard to get semi gloss paper for so what would the next biggest size be that is easiest to get semi gloss paper for? And where would you get it (order it online? go to staples?)

Good question.

Answer that and you shall make many USA and Canada people happy.

Of course I can help folks to get A4 size but, like I counted yesterday it would cost some what much (the lowest even bit reasonable quantity being 400 sheets = 105 Euros shipped to US or Canada).

Maybe contact HP's on-line store and ask would they import the paper to US.

Yeah, unless you can convince HP to do it for you.

Nuts well I guess matte legal sized paper is my future then. I like the way they come out anyway.

I'm sure semi gloss would be sick but luckily matte still works

Yep it should just don't use the most ink-rich printoption or your covers will be muddy.

Try out printing small samples to see which option is best.

Sometimes telling your printer what paper you are using is good enough, but not always.

What do you mean by "don't use the most print-rich option?" What options exactly are you talking about? I'm sure that information will help me down the road when I get started.

For example my printer has optrion of normal quality print and high quality print in the print set-up.

If I use high quality print with normal paper the paper will be so soaked in ink that it looks awful, thus I use Normal option.

Or did when I used normal paper.

Now that I use photo paper using normal would cause the image to be nearly invisible due to low ink usage.

So I either use high quality print or tell the printer that I use semi-gloss photo paper.
For some reason on other covers one gives better result, but on others the other results better quality.

Those are good tips. Have you guys also modified your UGC's so they fit NES games? I'm doing mine right now and boy do they get messy. It can't really be helped though and i just do the best I can and let the foam inserts raise the NES game up so it fits more snugly.

Do you guys have any tips for how to do this modification best? I'm using a dremel and have done 10 so far with another 15 to go.

I cut out all of the molding in the UGC except for the two straight pieces at the top and bottom; this seems to hold the NES carts just fine for my liking.

I use an Xacto knife very carefully. There's a couple of ways you can do it. The easiest way is to trace around the base of the molding you intend to remove with the cutting edge of the knife multiple times, pressing slightly harder each time until you basically cut the whole thing off like it was warm butter. It ain't the fastest way, but it's the easiest way. After a while, being familiar with it, you should be able to basically just cut it off in one go. I find that there is a minimum of edges left this way, and is pretty smooth.

Wow, so a dremel is not even necessary? And this sounds cleaner. Isn't it harder this way (like say, if you wanted to alter 25 UGC's, that might take awhile)?

Yeah, the first few times it'll take a while to become accustomed to (especially separating the rightmost molding from the wall they're connected to). But after getting used to the process, I can cut out around 15 (max) in a little over a half hour. As long as you've got a sharp blade and you're very careful with your hands, it works very well. Just remember to give your hands a rest after a little while to avoid fatigue and accidents.

What do I do if an image is 299 dpi? For whatever reason, the pokemon puzzle league and bio freaks verticals that I have are in 299 dpi. If I want it to print in the correct size, do I have to change any settings?

The print might come out just too large, so try printing at scale of 99%.
But this might make them print out too small.

check which vcomes out better.
