Does anyone have a suggestion for what kind of printer would be good for this project? Like a specific type of Canon printer (or epson). I know nothing about printer quality.

Cheapest Canon scanner printer that you can find.
Canon's scan software is really good, I have yet to break any Canon printer and print quality is good.
Just as long as you use proper paper, scanner does not matter that much.

Why do I need a scanner printer? I don't need a scanner or at least I don't think so. What could I use it for- video game related?

Hmm I'll give you a hint:
WE NEED RAW MATERIAL FOR OUR COVERS, SO YOU GO TO EBAY AND BUY MINT CIB VERSION THE RAREST AND MOST EXPENSIVE GAME WE ARE MISSING COVER FOR...
Now try to figure out what to do with the scanner part. ;)

Oh, Heh. I'm sorry dude I'm new here. That didn't occur to me. I'll take a look at the master lists and see if there's anything I have. I'd love to help pay you all back for this great resource someday!!
P.S. Thanks for all the great advice thus far
