I'm going to be posting my scans here. Most are random, but I'm going to try and scan at least one game a day for the site. I know we're not on the best of terms, but I hope I can help a little every day with this topic.

Tips for scanning would help, this is my first one scanned at 600DPI, so if it looks bad please let me know. PS: is tinypic a good site to be hosting these on?

What's the preferred sit to upload these to. I feel liketinypic is resizing them.

Thanks for the suggestion. Reuploaded with mediafire. How are the scans & uploads? I'm using a scan option called "magazine" on my scanner so it descreens the scans. Honestly, I think they look pretty good, but I'm not graphic artist so any feedback would be great.

Tom & Jerry and HOTD2&3 have pretty prevalent moire throughout the art portions of the covers. They could probably be serviceable with a bit of extra cleaning up, though. Those scans of Umihara Kawase, on the other hand, are VERY nice. If you did anything different in scanning that one, do the same thing to everything else you scan.

I did absolutely nothing different with the settings between all three of the game scans for far. I'm using the same nintendo power magazine to flatten the boxes/inserts, and the same amount of weight is being out on the top of the scanner.

Here's my settings. Is there anything I should change?

edit: re-scanned war of the whiskers and it still has that same pattern, so I think the original box art is just printed like that. Must have been a low quality print straight out of the factory.

That all looks pretty good to me. It's likely just an issue with the physical media itself, then. My scanner hates that kind of stuff. But I've been messing around with the HOTD2&3 cover for the last 10 minutes just to test it out, and yeah, it looks like it could clean up pretty well.

It must just be the media type. I just did a scan of my PS2 Nights into Dreams art book, and look at how clear it came out. I think cardboard boxes will probably come out better, even if they're much harder to scan.

Long story short, I did some adjusting to the way I scan, and I think the new scans should have better contrast, and less of the moir effect in the future. Reuploaded Dragon's Crown, and I think this looks better.

Today's Scan is something Shenske might like since he's done so many pokemon cases.
