Hey people

I am new the these forums, but have been using the website (and reading the forum posts) for a very long time.  I live in the UK and I have made my own covers for NES, N64, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance.

However, I now need some help.  The place I usually buy the cases from (Univeral Game Cases) has now been sold out and does not look like they are going to get any more in.  I know they are sold in america etc, and I was wondering if someone could help me locate some that I can get shipped over here?

I did find some on eBay but the seller wants to charge something like $100 to ship :(

Any help would be appreciated.

Jim

Due to the weight and size of a case of 100 UGCs the shipping anyone outside of America is very high.

I'm in Canada and after ordering 200 cases the shipping was higher than the cost of the cases.

I could imagine shipping overseas would be even more expensive.

You always try double wide DVD cases, however if you've cased a bunch of stuff already it might be even more costly to switch.

One thing I can tell you is that even if someone from the USA gets the cases as ships them for you it will still be expensive.

Good luck!

I live in Finland but I order and use these from UK: http://www.rivieramultimedia.co.uk/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=9264338
or if you prefer clear:http://www.rivieramultimedia.co.uk/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=9265000

These use UGC covers as is (near perfect fit) and also fit SNES manuals without bending unlike UGCs.

Or wait until Seymor onion of our site finishes his cases, altough shipping might be as bad as with UGCs.

In the last year or two the USPS has tripled the price of international shipping. They're horrifically inefficient and the steep rise in fuel costs in the US coupled with the fact that they had been operating in the red for decades caused a panic which in turn cause the rate spike.  Instead of doing it the logical way, which it would have been to gradually raise rates over the years BEFORE the spike in fuel costs and to prevent an operating in perpetual debt.

If Congress would get out of the way then USPS wouldn't have to do things like drastic rate increases. But we all know Government Knows Best! /sarcasm

I agree. I think privatizing it would work wonders, but I don't see that happening soon...

im sure i posted this somewhere else on the forums...

oh well, dont mind posting it again,

for us UK peeps Gameseek sells UGC's

you can get 1, 10, 25, 50 or 100

http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/toysujsee2z0p85/Universal-Game-Case--for-N64,-Megadrive,-SNES-and-all-CD-format-Games-ONE-#desc

they even say you can get covers from TCP!

(  also they are UK based  http://www.gameseek.co.uk/c/welcome.php  )

HOWEVER i have not used them so i cant say how reliable they are

gotta be cheaper than getting them from the USA tho, right?

EDIT: whoops! also meant to say, welcome to the boards!

A similar YouTube video is how I found out about TCP (NES Complex). It's nice when these guys with subscribers and followers bring attention to the site.

Hey

Thanks for all the awesome information.  Gameseek definitely sold them.  I used them before but they have been out of stock for aaaaaaaages!!

I did find someone on eBay with reasonably good postal charges ($52 for 50 cases).  Works out with import fees it would work out at £104.98 GBP.  So £2 a case.  Not too bad.  But still looking elsewhere first! :)

That's the price I paid for and I'm just across the border.

I recently tried using double DVD cases and they work brilliantly. Little modification is needed, and all you really need are weather strips to stick on the inside to prevent the cart from sliding everywhere and it works like a charm. I will post some pics later on how I did mine

I'd like to see those pictures, definitely. I ordered 20 UGCs at Gameseek too, but seeing as they're out of stock, that might be a nice alternative.
