The no manual concept is step one towards switching to digital delivery. Remove as much of the tangible product as possible, so gamers won't be taking such a big step when it switches.
I really feel conned when I open a box and there is no manual. Especially in the case of vita games, as the box and media are so small.

its a catch 22 with some people. its nice for newer games missing manuals we dont have to hunt down if we buy games without a box. but on the other hand i love looking through the manuals. I mean look at the Lunar ones for the PSX

I like the ones that show the weapons, characters, and monsters of the game. Those are always fun to look at.

I agree with this completely...it's only a matter of time before they start cutting costs somewhere else also, like some generic disc art that just has the name of the game with a single colored background or possibly also case cover art in the same way. Unless a person chooses to make his/her own cover most people probably won't end up caring if they get the game digital since physical no longer offers any other incentive then to have a physical copy.
