Color Scheme Help For Arcade Machine

Pages: (1/2) > >>

SnesGuy:

Hey guys. I'm building a bar top arcade machine and need help with the color scheme

Its an MVS/Neo-Geo style cabinet. The cab comes in black melamine (already ordered it).

I'm Thinking of doing white T-molding, and instead of doing the red vinyl rap just getting the vinyl neo geo/snk/mvs lettering in white and putting it on the sides. So it would have a black and white look.

The Marquee and controll panel overlay are the MVS red and white.
I'm having a hard time picturing the black/white and red/white schemes together.

I could either do it like that, edit the marquee and CPO art to match the white/black scheme, or just do black T-molding and leave the sides blank for now (and maybe do the SNK/NEO GEO/MVS Lettering in a matching red tone? Idk)

Or somthing like this

Edit: will have LED joystick and buttons, so I don't think there would be a lack of color.

Any thoughts/feedback?

SnesGuy:

lol really? a site of cover artists and no second opinions on color schemes xD

No rush though. The cabs are made to order and take 2 weeks

e_brugal:

well, i prefer the black and white

palmer6strings:

Well, I'm going to be trying to redo some arcade cabinets that I got here a while back. So I'll give my input.
I think your would look nice the way you explain it. Mainly black, white T-molding and some red accents.

SnesGuy:

I think I'm leaning towards doing it all black and white except the marquee, leaving that the original Red/White design.
I'm doing the A/B/C/D buttons the same colors as the original MVS layout except LED buttons

Think I'm going to shoot the cab guy an email and get the marque dimensions and get that ordered because EMDKAY takes like 2 - 6 weeks
Maybe finish Photoshopping the overlay so I can get that ordered too.

Really want the get the control panel overlay done, because If I order the hardware and don't have the CPO done.. well I'm impatient and would probably install the controls, then have to take it back apart later =P
