Google documents is instant editing, easy to share and you can have assigned users to have edit rights. Just saying.

I think if every system had a thread like this that stayed updated it would be very helpful. http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=10382.0 I understand that it takes a lot of work to do this and stuff disappears if the original artist deletes it from there media fire or box but atleast it's better than nothing.

I like those pages and frequent them. The problem is that only one person can maintain it. There needs to be a way where anyone can update those links, otherwise we have the same problems.

I think the way that covergalaxy has it set up would work best. With a dedicated upload section for each platform that can easily be searched.

My list is updated within day of recieving aceptable cover. ;)

Yes, you are quite good at this. But its only one list. I think having a way for the general user to upload their files to an "unofficial" cover section would be an improvement on the current system.

Frankly I'm not sure why there is push back on this. It would take very little effort to set up.

I have used Google Docs before. I don't think people want to learn a new system.

There is no reason this can't be done within thecoverproject.net and not have to start using Google Docs. Most people don't use it and wouldn't know how to.

You seem to be using mixed messages here.  You say that any old shit (my words) is being hosted, but buried in the boards.  This is not being hosted by tcp.net, it's merely links.  What you are asking for is for users to upload anything they want, and stored on site, and visible to the masses.  This is what I say is never going to happen.  This is what will hammer bandwidth, and server space (which is already pretty limited as far as I know)

If you want to create a similar thread to arseens for other systems, be our guest.  It is actually very useful, but it's also time consuming.  As I've said,  if users post and label covers properly, and submit only those that are site worthy, things would be easier to find with a forum search.  I'm not being negative, just realistic.  We don't want to encourage sub-standard stuff being uploaded to the site.  I make plenty of covers from shit source material, and do not want them hogging bandwidth/server space as they are not what this place is about.

I understand what you are saying, but if you create the main category USER UPLOADS and the sub categories NINTENDO NES, SUPER NINTENDO, etc. then the users can post them there like they do know with links from their MediaFire accounts. Pretty simple really. Give me temporary permissions and i'll set it up.

I am thinking of created a vbulletin forum on my server so that we might be able to organize covers a bit better. Would i be stepping on toes doing this? I'm not looking to compete with or replace The Cover Project.
