So, I was thinking, there are a lot of "Trilogies" on the NES and wouldn't it have been cool if they had released boxed sets of them.  While no company ever did, I figured I would try to find a way to make a "boxed" set.   I don't use UGC's for my NES games mostly due to space but I do use plastic boxes from videogameboxprotectors.com so I went the direction of trying to box those.

The design is not prefect as it takes 2 sheets and some gluing (I haven't glued it yet in the pics) to get it all together but for my first attempt I think it turned out pretty good.

I was thinking of either tackling the Super Mario Brothers or Double Dragon Trilogy next.

Sweet!  Hit em all!  Lets see...Mario, Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Wizards and Warriors, Dragon Warrior, Castlevania  Mega Man, RBI Baseball, etc.  Like seeing new ideas like this. Good job!

Can't wait to see TMNT. If I didn't already have my NES games in UGCs then I'd be all over this.

How are you making the boxes? Just printing on heavy card stock, or what?

Thanks  guys!  I have some ideas for others, just got to get around to making them.

How are you making the boxes? Just printing on heavy card stock, or what?

I am using Red River Paper 50lb. Premium Matte C2S 8.5x14 photo paper.  It's thicker then normal paper but not card stock.  I was thinking about hitting the whole thing with some matte sealer but might just see how it holds up for now.

I really like the idea of game carts being collected together like this. I'd go even further and print the boxes on semi-glossy paperboard, using hot glue or double-sided tape to hold it together.

These are compelling. They make me want to do the same thing to my games!

These trilogy boxes look awesome! I bet they are also a lot easier to make than trilogy boxes using UGCs, especially since there is no rivets and hot gluing involved
