Not sure if this has already been discussed....

But this is a remixing of Final Fantasy VI music.  There was a lot of time and effort put into this and it turned out great!  best of all?  It's free!
Here is the website to the album.  Download info is available here.

For FF6 fans, like myself, this really is good stuff

I love FF6, and I was very excited to hear this, but I honestly feel the soundtrack is a mixed bag. Some of the tracks are fantastic, and they really hit the opera scene out of the ball park. Another favorite is the ever emotional Forever Rachael, which comes across as hauntingly beautiful.

On the other hand, I felt that many tracks deviated too greatly from their original tunes for my liking, and the whole soundtrack lacked a certain "punch" with the remixes of Dancing Mad and the Credits themes both seeming weaker than they should have been. Even so, this is an amazing fan effort that everyone should check out.

Every album that OC Remix puts out is a mixed bag. Some songs are awesome, some are crap. It's easy enough to delete the ones I don't like.
My DS Cover Requests: Anno 1701, A Witch's Tale, A Witch's Wish, Black Sigil, Dynasty Warriors, Flower Sun and Rain, Mage Knight Destiny's Soldier, n+, Time Ace

I wouldn't so far as to say that they are crap. Everyone's got their different tastes - I rarely like the "techno" style remixes they got, but I really enjoy many of the piano covers. Especially Chrono Trigger offers such a vibrant source material it's hard to think of a bad CT remix ... from the FF VI album, I like "Full speed ahead" and "A fistful of nickels" best.

My all-time favourite OC Remix track is however "Kindred", a Super Metroid remix by Zircon and Pixietricks. They really capture that haunting atmosphere of Maridia with that one perfectly. Whenever I want to introduce OC Remix to someone I point to this track, and they usually say "This is game music?"

I know there are those who are really being buttwipes toward remixes with vocals but everything Jillian Aversa sings is just great.

My favorite content by far are vocal remixes where lyrics are added to classic songs without lyrics. Many of these on OCR are just chillingly excellent. One that comes to mind is Dale North's Pollyana from MOTHER 1. And he just sings a couple lines of the whole song!

Singing starts only at the end of the song at 2:21.
