Like a few other members of the site I picked up the Zelda Wii U bundle with my store credit from BullMoose....Blumpkin may know of the store. I also snagged a Pro controller, Iron Man 3 BD/DVD, Suikoden Tactics hint book, GoW III Hard Cover hint book, KH: 3D Hint Book and some random movies and pre-ordered the Zelda Guide box set and various other things from the same place with said credit as well. |

But good deals are hard to find at their stores, at least for me. I think they made the minimum price for N64 titles $7.96 this summer. That's right, damn near $8 for effing sports games. Terrible. |

I think that downloads should be used for backup purposes. I have a 2TB and a 3TB external drive, so it's not about space to me. I do not dislike Zelda. I am a fan of this genre but sometimes Zelda games have stupid parts to them and I am burned out with it. I tried Twighlight Princess and the graphics are awesome and the beginning of the game looks promising, then you get to the herding part. I never played beyond that part. I hate the herding concept. Earthworm Jim 3D made me hate the herding in video games. lol. I like exploration more than shooting and fighting. I will eventually get Zelda anyway because my Wife is a fan of Zelda. lol. bottom line: download vs physical copy I wanted something with my Wii U that has a box and a disc. Nintendo Land was only one available without travelling. Speaking of GamePads I'm trying to ask around to see if Donkey Kong Country Returns works on a Wii U. I have not purchased a Nintendo system since N64 and I am growing frustrated about the controller aspect of the Wii systems. wtf? I understand that not all games are playable with the GamePad, yes? some may require a Wiimote or something called Nunchuck and Classic? I am confused. I wonder what Nintendo is thinking here. My first thoughts about the GamePad - I thought that two players could play Madden footbal and not be able to see each others play menus. how cool. Then, I imagined all of the possibilities with other games. But apparently, noone else is daydreaming and many games are not even playable on this GamePad. very frustrating. I hope that this changes in the future. Game Developers need to be aware of Wii U gamers and start producing. XBox and Playstation are not the only systems in town. I want to use the GamePad with all of my games. Star Wars Bounty Hunter would be awesome with this pad, yes? --- End quote --- DKCR uses the Wiimote sideways, like an NES controller. Any controller requirements are on the back of the box. The different Wii U controllers are: Game Pad Pro Controller Wiimote Plus (Upright or Sideways) Wiimore Plus With Nunchuck Wiimote with Classic Controller (not to sure if any U game uses this) The Gamecube controller is no longer supported, due to lack of a port. The main ones you should have are: Game Pad, Wiimote Plus, and a Nunchuck. The others are extra options. All Wii U games should use the Gamepad as a Player 1 controller. Wiimotes are for other players, but in some cases be used for P1, like NSMBU. The Pro controller mostly relapses the Classic and Gamecube controllers for Wii U games. I think the Game Pad and Pro controlers are unsupported by Wii mode. The classic controller is good for Wii games, like Brawl, Xenoblade, and others. It is a bit of a clusterf@ck, but I like all the options. |

Hello, Larry, Thank You for the quick introduction to the controllers. Good stuff. I am new to the Wii world. I do see the controller options listed on the back. I only have one game right now - Nintendo Land. I have to wait to purchase the upcoming releases and I need to make time to browse current games. Anyway, I did buy the Wiimote Plus, so that is good. I will buy Donkey Kong Country Returns and catch up with the gaming world. I haven't played newer games since Twisted Metal Black. lol. I'm way behind. I am happy to have a Wii U now. I do hope that developers make all games compatible with the new GamePad. I like this new GamePad; very cool. I agree about the clusterbag. yikes! way too many options to suit me. I remember discussing this subject in marketing and advertising course. Studies have shown that too many options is bad business. I agree. I sense a scam with so many options. I feel like Nintendo and developers are trying to squeeze more money from our wallets. I guess I'm old fashioned or just old. I like one controller with many games. oh well. I will just buy games that work with the GamePad or Wiimote Plus. I'm not very good at playing certain games anyway. Actually, I stink at most games. LOL. I am very good at sports and puzzles and car combat. Somewhat good at role playing games. I am thinking about entering the Game Development industry. I like Star Wars Bounty Hunter idea but not the actual game. Many parts of the game are awful - in my opinion. I want to start with a similar style game but drop all of the bad stuff while adding new stuff. okay, I am done rambling. :) |

Larry, I forgot to mention that Xenoblade looks interesting. I will have to try it. Thanks for mentioning it :) |
