Just be sure to uninstall and delete your old antivirus programs, they work against each other if you have multiple ones running at the same time. --- End quote --- I second this. Been using Avast (free version) for years and never had a lick of trouble with it. --- End quote --- I will just throw my "third this" in here. I used to use AVG but I've used Avast for years now and it's great. It's not very draining on your system like McAfee or Norton, updates automatically, and as an actually catcher of the viruses it works great! I don't go to too many fishy places but I have clicked a link or two knowing Avast had my back and thank god it did! I personally use the pro version but the free version is great too. |

been running comodo for a while i think the only reason i had an issue this time was because i was running 2 anti-virus programmes at once, last time i used it Adaware was an anti-malware programme, assumed it still was, so i think running that and AVG was giving me the issue. trying malwarebytes and avast, thanks again for all suggestions and tips! |

I'll throw in another for Microsoft Security Essentials. Been running it since it came out years ago and have never had a problem. |

MSE is fantastic. |

Good idea for a thread! I've been using AVG and spy bot for a long time now and been wanting to get away from them, so this will help me too. |
