The second one is from the original box, right? if it so then wont be accepted for the quality of the screenshot. the second one looks much better but it would be custom because it doesn't have the original screenshots.

but let some of the gurus and admins to give you some of their opinion

by the way, are you from Latin America?

I agree.

The custom shots are obviously better looking, and it will mean the cover is accepted, but labelled as custom.

To be labelled retail, everything has to be exact as per the retail box.   The only way is to use an emulator to get the captures.

This is what I have been trying to tell him for 2 days now.

Especially the bolded part.

The screen shots from the emulators can be edited to look like the retail ones. Like how I did here: http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=11783.

what you did to give this effect in screens?

I expand or do I reduce ever on index colors to not lose quality .. after transform to rgb..

Take screen shots from the emulator. Then you use photoshop to select areas of the screen shot, select then copy and paste.

@Coelho: Please do not open a new thread for every thing which comes to your mind. You're cluttering the forums badly.

When I add covers also ones with orignal screens will be accepted if those screenshots are properly scanned, cleaned and colored. Emulator screens for a retail cover are overkill to me as finding the right spot is too time consuming in my book.

You're doing fantastic work, probably the best on the forums right now, and I don't understand tiktektak's issue either.

You aren't bothering anybody. Please don't leave.

And just to be clear, a google translation:

Esta é uma tradução do Google:

Você está fazendo um trabalho fantástico, provavelmente o melhor nos fóruns agora. Eu não entendo a queixa da tiktektak também. Ele é uma espécie de valentão.

Você não está incomodando ninguém. Por favor, não vá embora.

With my vote for retail, the votes are split evenly, which I feel is appropriate. I feel like screenshots on covers meant to act as retail should be recreations as close as possible to the source material. The screenshots on my GB/GBC/GBA Mega Man covers are all very, very close to being 100% accurate to their retail versions, although I initially captured most of them with emulators. I used MS Paint afterwards to rearrange elements of the screenshots to more closely match the boxes where needed. The screenshots on my MMBN 1 & 2 covers were completely rebuilt from scratch, however, just since there was so much going on in those shots that it was nearly impossible to recreate on the fly (plus one of MMBN1's screenshots required access to a prototype version of the game that I obviously don't have, so I HAD to rebuild it).

Yes, perfectly matching the screenshots (or even coming incredibly close) is time-consuming, but I feel like paying even that amount of attention to detail only serves to better the cover as a whole.

Yes, I agree, an attempt to recreate the retail screenshots in an emulator (with some editing if needed) is best. My, admittedly custom, covers have mostly employed this. For A Link to the Past I got screenshots as close as I could and edited them to make them pixel perfect. For Super Mario World and Perfect Dark I got as close as I could just in-game (the big boo screenshot isn't really close, though. Getting that ghost into the right part of the level was basically impossible).

I didn't try on the Goldeneye cover, admittedly, but that one was thrown together very quickly on a whim. :-X

Ok, if i understand correctly the covers are excellent but dont have the original screenshots, right?

So if i'm right his covers are excellente CUSTOM covers and should be on TCP, should be uploaded as Custom

I don't think there is any argument to the quality of his covers. He's uploaded quite a lot just let the sorting process take its place. You guys are getting pretty defensive and aggressive mighty quickly now-a-days.
