Hey guys, unwilling to pay the crazy prices it goes for, I've got a reproduction copy of Little Samson made from a copy of Dirty Harry. Thing is, I need a label for it. A custom label is fine with me if anyone is antsy about using a full retail version.

This is the best scan I can find:

This is the European boxart, which no little samson cart uses (it has the red NES banner). cleaned up and with an end label, it should be good enough.

thanks in advance.

First off let me say that I don't mind somebody getting a reproduction of any game (I won't do it for a North America release but that's just me) but -in my humble opinion- this label shouldn't be shared publicly. There's a serious problem with scammers on eBay... Take The Flinstones - Surprise at the dinosaur park for instance to mention a common faked game.

Sure, I can understand that. Anyone who can help, send me a private message or direct email about it at satoshimatrix@hotmail.com

I'll agree to keep it private. I have no wish for a ready to use label to fall into the wrong hands.

I can scan my label, as I don't give a fuck what is done with the label.

I just don't remember is my PAL or US.

Thanks, remember that I also need the end label. The PAL version is windowed, as is often the case with PAL games. but even that's better than nothing. I think it would be best if you send it directly to my email and not publicly.  I have no desire for this to be easily obtainable for those who want to sell repros as the real thing.

As bad as scammers are Satoshi, I don't think we need to be incredibly concerned about it. To be honest, even if we are able to make an absolutely flawless label for the cart that matches the original to a T, any REAL serious collector that would be the type of person to drop $1k on this game would certainly open the cartridge up and check the actual game chip. You could spot a repro chip clear as day, and eBay is pretty good about fraudulent items, if what I've heard speaks for the majority. They'll get what's coming to them.

And anyone who doesn't check... Well. Caught slippin'. :P But they wouldn't even know, and probably wouldn't be the type of person dropping fat stacks to buy it in the first place.

If anything, I think we should post it up on the site for posterity's sake. We save labels on the site all the time. It's an extremely hard game to come by, and imagine the poor sap in 12 years that has a copy of this game with a jacked up label. Finding and getting in touch with people who own the game and could scan it for you would likely be very hard. They'll spend days sifting through the internet, only to find this forum topic where someone got exactly what he needed, but it was only sent to an email address that has long since been abandoned by user. Similar things have happened to me far too many times; the information should be made free to the people.  It is our duty as forward-thinking video game artwork enthusiasts! (And, really, how long do you see yourself sticking with hotmail? ;) )

Also, Arseen, if your label has a large white portion at the bottom, I'm pretty sure that means it's PAL.

I was at work so I could not check it.
But now I'm home and checked and it clearly says PAL B and NOE = PAL cart. ;)

I agree, reproduction labels are very easy to tell apart from authentic, vintage ones.

and even if I were to end up selling my repros, I don't think there's anything wrong with that so long as I make it clear that I'm selling reproductions and not originals. Only people on NintendoAge seem to have a problem with that. Screw them.

Thank you shenske! but I prefer to use the Japanese art sheep is working on in the other thread. What I'd like is the English little samson logo used with the Japanese artwork. There would be no need for the text saying its a repro as it would be so obvious with the completely different custom label.

Yeah Shenske, would you mind sending me the .PSD file for that (AWESOMELY DONE, by the way) US Little Samson label? I was going to take care of this Japanese label for Satoshi when we're all done with my Famicom request thread, but it would be awesome if I could extract that high-quality "Little Samson" logo from your original file. (I'm assuming it's transparent on it's own layer?)

No worries. I made it super quickly and didn't pour my blood sweat and tears into it.  :P
