The PSP Go? Is it worth It? Does any One Have it?

I have been contemplating the idea of buying a PSP Go for awhile now. I Have some extra cash and I am almost convinced, I am going to buy one. I have a Psp 3000, and I love it. I want a psp go because I can travel with it, I can have it on hand through out the day, and It is small and portable. Does any one have a psp go? How is it? and Is it worth buying? I only ask this because there is so much hate towards the system

I won't ooze hate on it, but it's a largely unnecessary system. Literally the only thing it has going for it is its size and portability. Every single other thing can be done just as well by its big brother, plus UMDs.

But if you plan on putting custom firmware on it, you don't really need the umd's anyway since you can put your "already owned  " psp games on a pro duo sd card.

If you like paying too much for games then it's great. Since it doesn't have a UMD drive you have to buy digital games from PSN.

You're much better off buying a PSP 2000 or 3000. You can find physical copies of games all over the place on the cheap. Plus you can still download those hard to find titles you might want.

@palmer6strings. Thats my plan . I plan to run custom firmware. And put all my Gba,Gb/GBC,N64,Nes,SNES, and Homebrew games onto it. So I have all those on the go while I go out. Becuase my psp 3000 can be a hassle to carry around. Dont get me wrong the 3000 is defiantly better in all aspects, but it can be a pain to carry around.

Well, if homebrew is your goal, then absolutely get the Go. As far as I'm concerned, that's where it actually serves a purpose. Have fun!

I picked one up on clearance for $60 with a single purpose in mind, portable Sega CD:



It made the time I spent making my own personal backups from my Sega CD collection seem like less of a waste of time

Though, I don't play it much, because the controls just feel too cramped for my liking.

I started personally backing up my Dreamcast collection too (with my httpd-ack server and broadband adapter) to have a full set of clean unhacked rips, though, never bothered finishing since I didn't have a portable to use them with, and started to seem kind of silly.

I'd really like to get a psp go but can't justify the means of dishing out 60 for one.
Now if I got a used one for like $30 that's a no brainer.

Im probably going to end up paying like 110 for a "semi new" never used one. Because I want one in good condition. Most used go's I have seen look like shit

I wouldn't get a PSP GO unless it was dirt cheap. Same reason I wont get an iPhone....removable battery. I hate that if the battery dies you have to take the thing apart to replace it.

Hmm, might have to scoop up a PSP GO when ever I see one for dirt cheap. Didn't realize they were so good for homebrew and emulators.

Just picked up a go for 70. Its "Like new only used a few times, no scratches, comes with box + inserts. 10 games bundle". Im going to run custom firmware the day it comes in the mail. Hopefully I can get used to the compact controls of the go. I love my 3000, so I have high hopes. Now I can have all my Nes, GBA, N64, games while traveling.

Problem with the go for me is I find it terribly uncomfotable to hold. The shoulder buttons are far to high up in proximity to the face buttons. If the game tou play doesn't use the shoulder buttons its not too bad. Plus you can hook a dualshock to it through bluetooth with no need to hack it
