That would be excellent, and most appreciated!

For the absolute best scans, you'll have to flatten out your box.  I would totally understand if this is something you're not willing to do, but (for NES at least) this can be done without permanently damaging the box in any way.  Basically, the way to do it is to remove everything from inside the box (obviously), then push the bottom out from the inside by putting your hand in the box and putting your fingers at the part where the bottom folds in (one on each side).  Doing this you should be able to get it completely flat without wrinkling the bottom flap.

Once it's flat, place it on the scanner platen, with the front and left spine on the same side, and set a book or something heavy on it (I go the extra mile and physically lean on the book while the cover is being scanned just for extra flatness, but that's your call).  Scan at 600 DPI.  You can use a descreen or derasterise feature if it's available, but it's unnecessary as there are options for doing that post-scan in GIMP (and Photoshop as well I'm sure).  Then flip the box around to scan the back and do it again.

When reassembling the bottom of your box, in the case of NES, put the large flap down first, then the two side flaps with the 'hooks' in them, and finally the small flap.  Then, gently push on the small flap in the two spots where those 'hooks' are, and the box should reassemble without incident.

Again, if you're not comfortable doing that to your box and/or your scanner I'd totally understand, but it's simply the best way to get great scans for covers.

I agree with madrocsz, please scan from the list that he has compiled. I would love to have scans of these boxes.

By the way, I'm still interested in buying Barbie from you. PM me with details when you have some time (asking price, condition etc.) scan Barbie first, if you can, so I can see the condition. I want it for my Wife's Barbie collection. Also, I am interested in the Wizard of Oz box if it is in good condition.

I have an outdated Microtek Scanmaker X6. I like Microtek scanners. Anyway, I always use the magazine descreening option to reduce glare and remove the scanlines. First thing that you should do is callibrate the scanner and monitor. Scanners should have a white strip; make sure the strip is not yellowish or faded. Color profiles are important - pale red can look brown on other computers. found an article for you to peruse:

Very sorry for the delay in box scans. I'll take a look at the list and see what I can do. I also have boxes for several other more mainstream games than what I listed I just didnt have time to write em all down. If there are any specific scans someone may need please feel free to PM me or post here. It might make the process go a little faster.
