Especially since you mention that Nintendo and Sony and such got no problems with wqhat we are doing here. *ugh* Imagine what would happen if the person who reads your complaint thinks, "Oh well he says it's okay with the copyright holders. I hope we didn't delete his files wrongly. Hmm. Maybe I'll ask my superior what to do." His superior get's a memo about yopur complaint and thinks. "Oh well if this customers says this site is supported by the big three, amybe this strange TCP thing as sponsored by big N or Sony." That could be a problem for us if we took down those files, becuase we did it before as well and if those covers are endorsed by those big companies we could get trouble for just removing them. Maybe it would be better to check back with some representative from Nintendo or Sony which is in charge of copyrights." Boom!!!!! TCP is closed a week later. ;)
Just a worse case scenario but such shit happens.

I love love your positive viewpoint. :D
But I do agree the less we are seen the less chance there is the some company decides that we are bad.

I agree with both of you, don't take that risk. It's a 50% chance that the page have to be close.

I agree it's kind of dangerous to mention the sit and let alone that Nintendo and Sega etc. have no problem with it (where does this information come from?). Some Japanese companies are quite strict concerning copyright infrigments on the interwebs, they take down YouTube videos which feature music and animation from their TV shows regularly, not to mention full episodes.

A image is different than a movie, show, song or game. Downloading or uploading any of thous is uploading the actual product. The image is just the package. They want to make money off of what is inside the box, and uploading a song could affect sales of the song, uploading the album cover will not. It could even help advertise the song, "what is this album, the cover looks cool"

Actually also the covers of the CDs are copyrighted.
Will it affect the sale of the CD? Not really unless you download and burn the CD and then use the cover to make your CD look nice.
Anyway the cover art is copyrighted and if the companies are dicks they can sue us fo distributing it.
