Welp, I was just looking through my Box.NET to post a Battletoads cover for someone, and my Cover Re-uploads folder is gone.
Poof!

So I check my email . . .

--- Quote ---To whom it may concern,

We have recently received a complaint regarding the following file(s), which you have been sharing through your Box account, and infringe on a previously-held copyright:

MyBox/Cover Reuploads

We have deleted the above file(s) from your account. Please delete any other files from your account that may infringe on any previously-held copyrights, as these go against the Box Terms of Service. Be aware that further infractions may result in account termination.

Sincerely,

Luckily, all my covers are backed up. So nothing was lost.

TIME TO INVESTIGATE!

I sending them a message asking who filed the complaint.
edit: Can't find a customer support email, does anyone know one?

So here is the long-winded message:

--- Quote ---Well, a bunch of files from my box were recently removed due to an "infringe on a previously-held copyright"

The folder in question contained printable game covers, covers that I made for people on thecoverproject, a non-profit website and forum devoted to making replacement covers for games without a case so they look good on the shelf. The covers are protected under fair use, and Nintendo, Sony, SEGA, Microsoft and others have no problem with what we do, and no copyright claim was ever filed at the site, which is the only place to get a link to my covers.

I was wondering who filed the claim and if it was legitimate or not, because we had other users box and mediafire accounts had copyright infringement, by someone posing to be Nintendo or someone, normally misspelled NINTEND0 with a zero or something.
The files taken down, which was the folder with all my covers available to people on the site, contained images a variety of places, so 1 party does not own them all, so that makes me think it was a random person trying to mess things up.
Also, it it was a legitimate claim, they would have also went after thecoverproject, they would have had to be on the site in order to see my files.

Is there a way to restore the removed files?

First sing in

Search in the lower part of the page a costumers sign that has under it a "Community" Link, enter there.

It should redirect you to a support page, search for submit a request.

And that's all, remember that i don't use box, i'm doing this without signing in
