The artist should have made it the correct way the first time instead of being lazy.  :-\

This.

And I too did try to push Segamer to make minor alterations to his covers to make them perfect, but the answer was pretty much that he was professional and perfect, so even I gave up.
Yes he has great skills but like many artists he absolutely  hated critisism.

Over all kinda sorry he decided to leave.

He did some great work but that dosnt give you a free pass attitude wise. Overall I do think he was an asset to the site though.

After I've finished the SNES manual I'm currently working on I'll step up and fill a few requests. Feeling a little guilty that I havent contributed much toward the main focus of this site.

Placeholders remain searchable on the threads.  They won't be hosted.  Full stop.

Cdcovers.cc or cover galaxy are full of place holders

MAJOR NOTE RELATING TO THIS!!!!

For the love of covers people, when you publish your covers on the boards, add the name of the cover tpo the post so it can be found.

I mean this prime example:

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Thanks for the raws, lumberjoof!  I've borrowed your scan of the BK2 front.  :D

I've also made a few final improvements to each, so here they are for download:

Enjoy!

How the hell are we supposed to find this with search function.

Oh, same here. But I doubt my skills with cover editing will be up to par (especially with reading the current discussion) so I will try to at least scan some covers the site doesn't have yet.

Or send them to me for scanning. ;D

Yeah cool, get me some raws and I'll get them up to scratch. Time to give back a little!

Be careful what you promise ;D

Here is one simple one:

Please boost the colors, remove scratches and separate the main title (rebuild the hat and clock).
I also need the main title cleaned as well as the MEY a LS thingie in separate PSD files with emptyed back ( so I can overlay to the cover in good spot)

Thank you

Well he wouldn't have to rebuild the hat and clock if he just extended the wall in the background  ;)

Yeah but fitting that image with title at the top to Vertical template without streching might look bad, so I think relocating the title is needed, hence the request.

Personally i'd just extend the top of the wall and the wall/floor to the right of mario. Wouldn't need much be it would be enough to make it the right aspect ratio young padawan.  ;)

Or extending the bookshelf would still be easier than rebuilding the clock and hat.

Well it will not look as good as what I had visioned in my head, but should still be OK.

I'll do quick mock up to see would it lookk decent.

Could someone tell me what's wrong with the following cover. I submitted it a while back but it was never approved. I asked back then for some opinions but nobody ever gave me any input. I rarely ever have one get on and I don't even know what I'm doing right or wrong. I thought this one was pretty good and we don't have it on the site either.

I already made a cover for that one. It could probably use some more cleaning, but it is already in a vertical template.

One problem with the covers being in the forums is download links can die, and covers can go missing, like the Yoshi Story N64 vertical.

I think there should be a section separate from the cover section for Placeholder, like the RAW section, just so covers are not lost, some covers can't be made right the first time due to lack of scans, like my Pocket Bomberman cover, I retyped the back, and tried to touch up the front as much as posable, but it still could be better. I think it should just be reserved for covers with no HQ scans available, and they should still have standards, no Moby Games logos or anything, retyped backs, relapse ESRBs and Seals an such. if there are good scans, and the cover is not up to standards, fix it and post it in the normal archive.

Back on the "placeholder" idea, my recent "Jordan vs. Bird - One On One" cover is the perfect description of placeholder: EVERYTHING was re-done except the raster image of Jordan and Bird on the front because I lack scans. I put 2-3 hours to that thing, so "lazy" is not an accurate description.
Anyway, what I love the most about TCP is raw scans sharing, that way I don't have to deal with "lazy people" not doing the full job.

Ohhh, and don't forget to...:
