I could say so many things but I'm simply fed up with people like segamer.

Annoying like hell.

As long as I am in charge here, at least partly, only covers which meet my really high standards (which I also apply to myself) will make it.

I never ever rejected a cover because it was custom or I didn't like the User.

Only if something was wrong with it. That some people have to big of a ego to see that sth is wrong with their covers is not my problem and I honestly don't care.

People come and go. Luckily especially the annoying ones. The real core stays the same and I am soooooo happy about it!

Good idea, also maybe add read me part to the template so we know what is updated.

Adding a readme describing each change in each template is far more tedious and time consuming than i wanted to go into. I think a  simple date should suffice.

Maybe then add post to end of the template topic where you list the updates?

Just not going to list updates unless they are major. Whenever i update a template i end up fixing and switching 100 little things. Most people won't notice but it would take longer to list the improvements than it would to actually do them.

I have to agree with segamer.   The cover approvals are very skewed, and based on opinion.   Instead of this sorta approval method why not just have a rating system.  Let members give ratings like rottentomatoes.com.  However If your going to keep using these standards. You need to add standards about the text on the back of covers.  The bonk cover needs the text re-spaced. (and this is not the first time I have seen this)   Because of that I would choose segamers cover over badchads cover.  Both covers are missing the rating system symbol like E for everyone. Of course i dont think this game had a esrb rating, but I would have to add it for uniformity.  Anywho I always check the forums first. The covers made there almost always look better.  You just have to know whose mediafire account to check.

They aren't based on opinion.  Everyone who regularly posts here knows the standards.  And anyone who comes to the site comes for these standards.  It's a good thing that approvals have gotten tougher, some of the old shit I had posted on the site embarrasses me now.

If people don't like the standards, they should start their own site, and post stuff there.  Bandwidth is expensive, why on earth would a site that prides itself of quality host things that don't adhere to these quality standards?

People need to chill out and remember this is only a cover site.  There are far more important things in the world to get upset about.

Maybe we can have 2 levels to seek approbation. There's people very devoted to the forums like Arseen who can make a first stage selection of potentially upload-able covers. That way Guru Covers with very limited time to make a pixel-to-pixel inspection will only have to focus on a small list located in a  single thread instead of looking through all the sea of custom covers.

I 100% support the "placeholder" category to be implemented. Better that than nothing.

Sorry to put it bluntly but we are simply not going to do that. Cover should be made right the first time, if the cover can not be made right then it belongs in the forums.

I appreciate the quality stuff and the standards, but it's just kind of kind of hard to find covers sometimes in the forums. Some of the threads are over a 100 pages.

Agreed. I can see this "placeholder" idea as basically opening the floodgates.

The artist should have made it the correct way the first time instead of being lazy.  :-\

I dont see  a "placeholder"  as opening the floodgates.   And It might push people to make a better version.    People will think like I can make one better than that. but I sorta disagree with It, because it just means more work for Admins.  Its easy enough to click something approved but with the placeholder they would have to do a comparison.

Placeholders remain searchable on the threads.  They won't be hosted.  Full stop.

Cdcovers.cc or cover galaxy are full of place holders
