My vision is something like this ...




Not really monumentally different. A different paint job and no longer 'ugly as sin'

I like style of the shenske, only thing I prefer on cone's version is the over all width.

2 thing I noticed on shenske's preview:

He ignores us Forum Admins and plans to demote one of the Cover Admins to Cover Guru, as he lists 10 Admins and 5 Gurus, when the correct tally is 11 Cover Admins, 4 Cover Gurus and 4 Forum Admins

Also on the new site would it be possible to allow us Forum Admins also to see and download from the upload que? Cover Admins can keep the privilige of adding the covers but it would be nice if we grunts would be able to access the not yet or never to be approved cover.

lol. No, i just made this quickly (~15min) and just guessed how many we had and just used it as an example. Doesn't worry Mr. Arseen you wouldn't be excluded.

The width i provided is just the canvas size i chose in photoshop to give everyone an idea about placement and colors.

I like that shenske. It pulls in the basic elements that I put together but has a different flair. 1. Not a fan of the bg for the sidebars, but that's not terribly difficult to change. 2. Do you have that in a format I can work from?

1. The background is just a default texture provided in Photoshop. I just grabbed it quickly to show it an an example of a grayish texture.

2. I don't really. I've actually never worked in web design before. I just made this in Photoshop ~15min to show you what i was thinking. If there is anything i can pull out of my photoshop file i can do that for you (or just provide you with the file). The front milk bottle part of the logo i made is not high SUPER HIGH res but i can make it in illustrator if we decide to go that route.

I can scale this out just like I'm doing for the mock up I already built. It's all about using % vs px in the css. It'll be odd ditching orange and moving to a blue color. People will think they are in the wrong place.

I like your design for the most Part, but it feels very Dark I think it would look better if you got rid of the black boarder and replaced it with a brighter color and put the search bar and links at the Top in a black box so they Dont get lost in the Brighter Color it could look alot better!!!

It is quite dark and I'll work on that since it's such a harsh departure from the white and orange we have today.

I like your logo but like i said before i just prefer the simplistic look for the top logo. I'm sure it could be used somewhere though 

EVERY cover site has orange or red and their color and even though we had the color first it might be good to set ourselves apart from them. I like the orange too but i don't want to be confused with the "other sites"

Ultimately none of these are my decisions as it is Snowcone's site. 
I am just very passionate about how the site looks. Partly because i've been here so long and this site is just kind of ingrained into my soul now.

I agree with you there is just too much going on with his logo I just dont feel as it would fit much like my Idea would not fit either I just said it for a chuckle a Game cartridge in a Blanket, very Punny yes! Oh tag line to go with it Cover your Games!!!  but something simple would Work Best I agree with that

Larry's logo is pretty busy, but it's cool. It has a very custom look. Maybe it would work well in the 'custom cover' section, if you should make such a place (would be nice to have a custom cover dump for each game title to search through as opposed to going through page after page of 100+ page forum threads just to find a single title).

Maybe the custom covers could be organized by Game title and by author so if you click, Casltevania4/SNES for example, you see every cover made for it that was not approved by the site admins for meeting TCP criteria. Likewise it would be cool to have the option to search for custom covers by author, so that if you realized you were a fan of the work by Segamer, Autobot, Larryinc64, or Wiggy, you could click that author and find all of the covers made by that person in one place (organize their customs alphabetically and by system?). It would be easier then searching for their name in the forums, and then going through page after page of their thread to see all of their covers.

Perhaps you could incorporate a user rating system for custom covers also which would make some of the best customs easier to find?

Yeah, my logo is a bit busy for the main attraction, but I still think the plain text is kinda boring, It needs a extra something. Maybe hide mine in the BG or something.
This preview is a little bit sloppy, Gradients, Drop shadows, and Bevels everywhere. But I think the brighter color scheme is a bit more inviting. I added Blue, Oranges complement, to help bring out some more color. I also thought as I was making it to have the grids dividing everything look like shelves.
This is more of a idea and needs more tweaks, but I kinda like where it is heading.
I like the font, Futra MdCn something, same font used on old GB boxes.
