Thanks for the feedback on this. I'm not sure about the icons for consoles yet, but I'll give it some thought.

I'm personally not a big fan of the icon's. It just seems messy to me.
Though I do think having certain systems under the brand is a good idea.

those icon's are messy, but we have some superb photoshoppers here that can easily wiggy up some icons.  Did I say wiggy, I meant "whip".

No, problem.   I just thought it would help everyone visualize a little better.

I sorta like the idea of using icons or system logos.   Too me the plain text seems a little boring.

I don't care either way on the text/icons debate, but I kinda like the idea of the system logos being used as a best of both worlds thing. And, if they get grouped by company Sony, Nintendo, Sega etc. have there own company logos that could be used as well.

It can get really busy and convoluted if its not done right. I actually have an I dea for this. I'll try and give you guys a preview over the next few days on what I'm thinking of.
