Laptop Suggestions?
larryinc64:
I am looking for a new laptop computer and I do not know what one to go with, so I'd thought I'd ask here.
I want:
A convertible Laptop, one of thous lap tops with the flip around screen that you can use as a tablet.
A Windows 7 OS
Good amount of ram
64 bit
13-15 Inch screen
I Want To:
Animate in Flash
Use Photoshop
Edit video
Play some games like: Mineraft, Portal, Gary's Mod, Skyrim, Sims
Attach a USB capture card for game play commentaries
My budget for this is large, so they can be expensive.
I was thinking This But I'm unsure.

Lenovo is a pretty decent brand.
However, for my money, I'd consider a MacBook Air, especially for creative programs.
For the same money you can get a high-end 13" MacBook Air with a 256GB SSD, 12 hour battery and a boxed copy of Windows 7. (assuming you absolutely need to run Windows)
Plus the MacBook Air's just got a refresh, with PCIe-SSDs, Haswell ULV i5/i7 and the 12 hour batteries. The MacBook Air is also 1lb lighter and has a higher resolution display.
The only downside is that the MacBook Air doesn't have a tablet functionality, but the SSD is going to be way waaaay faster than the conventional HDD in the Lenovo.

If you really want power get an Alienware, Dell XPS or an HP Envy-15.
I've personally owned a Dell XPS-14 and now have an HP Envy-17.
I have used the Envy-17 for video editing and it dose as good a job as the computers we have at the TV station i work at.

Those models if you're looking for a full desktop replacement, but they aren't very portable . . .
The Envy and XPS each weigh about 6.3 lbs. Lenovo has options at 4lbs, and Apple at 3lbs.
