Thank you very much!

The template was heavily inspired by Wiggy's Genesis covers, but as time went by I made a few alterations to the template to make it my own. So a big thank you to Wiggy, whether he knows it or not! LOL.

I'm no expert on covers, but I like it. The cover art is pretty cool and the dragon scales on the back background are a nice touch.

Thanks! I wanted something on the back, but not too much. The scales fit in perfectly.

Thanks for the honest opinion. Let us know what you don't like about it.

I always liked the Genesis style spines, but I never liked the red. I was originally going to go with blue for all of my covers (I'm still thinking about doing it for the later releases), but for me when I think of Mega Drive games, I always see the black and grey grid pattern. Black seemed a bit to harsh, especially against the light grey, so I went with a charcoal like color instead. I wanted uniform, and that's what this spine gives me.

I do appreciate your opinion and critique's, so please don't hold back. It will only make my next covers/templates better.

(I could mock up this cover with my original blue template, if you'd like to see what I was originally going for?)

EDIT: Mazin Wars on its way.

EDIT x 2: Been thinking about getting rid of the text and images on the back, and just having the blacked out patterns instead. Yey or ney? Is less really more? (Just the description and in game images)

My problem with the spine is that it absolutely breaks the flow of the covers. You see it especially
harsh on the golden Axe cover for example.

Still I'm no template guru so maybe wiggy for example would be a more appropriate guy to give feedback. ;)

I'm linking them, I just think the spine graphic needs less contrast. The barber pole graphic takes too much precedence IMO. I think a 60-65% and 75-80% gray might work better.

I like it if I'm honest. I can try a darker shade of gray instead of the light grey.

Just looking at the cover in a case, on a shelf, it just looks good to me. My only problem is that its printing out way to dark. I'm presuming that's a printer problem tied with a paper problem?

Post pics of them on shelves!

Blacks and dark colors always print "darker".  When you're working on a monitor, you're looking at projected light, not reflected.  So you're NEVER going to see actual black and same goes with other darker colors.  Working in CMYK and/or performing a CMYK preview before printing helps a lot.  It's not a printer issue, just the nature of working with print media.

Will do man. I'll try that out.

Also more added. (being added as this is posted.)

Added some more, also included an example of the blue template I was talking about.
