Me and my friend went to the Nintendo Experience event at my local Best Buy. We didn't get a foam Luigi hat they were giving away because the Nintendo rep gave them mostly to Best Buy employees.
We had to listen to a couple of bronies talk in line about pinkie pie for 30 minutes
until we finally got a chance to play Super Mario 3d World. Forced to play multiplayer with 3 other people, they were horrible at the game. The game is exactly like 3d Land on the 3ds but with multiplayer and a cat suit *cough* rehash *cough*
. Didn't get to use the cat suit power-up because the level that was chosen didn't have it.
So I played my one level and then it was all the way to the back of the line to play the next game demo. Me and my friend waited another hour to get back to the front of the line, the Wind Waker demo was slowing the line up big time and there was only one demo kiosk set up. We played Mario Kart 8 because the guy in front of us played DKC: Tropical Freeze so we got a good feel for how it played. Mario Kart plays like you would imagine it to play like. After playing that we decided to just go home instead of staying for another go round.
Overall it was a cool idea for an event by Nintendo/Best Buy, but they really should of had other games Wii U games playable like The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 or Pikmin 3 because the games available to play are all familiar to Nintendo fans and don't really show off anything new for the Wii U. On the plus side I got like 20 3DS Streetpasses.
