Hehe, I guess it just seems easy to me. Worst case scenario, get a US Genesis to play it. It would still cost you well under half of $200.

It's an option. Maybe if someone here would have a spare Genesis, we could talk about a deal, don't see too many of them sold on this side of the pond. And I'm a bit wary on buying something that big on eBay.

I have never seen Alien Soldier. I know you said it is PAL, but is there no USA version?

It was released for Japan in NTSC and Europe as PAL. There was no physical release for the US. However, like other games such as Mega Man the Wily Wars, it could be played on the short lived Sega Channel.
Thanks, I did some research myself, and concluded the same, but with RETCON 5 system coming out, the PAL MegaDrive games will play without any problems...I'm so stoked!

My expensive pick for this month... I was not looking for the whole set up but i think the price was right i was originally looking for just the turbografx 16 since i previously had bought one and it was junk.

I got this set up for $199 minus the games and controller I already had those..

I don't have turbografx cd game yet to test the cd rom but i play a music cd and it work fine,... :D

$70 lot of games I picked up from the same friend who sold me the three PS1 Megaman/X games and three SNES games not long back! His move to Alaska is approaching, so he's been going through stuff, and found more to sell me! Let's go through it by quadrant!

In the upper left we've got:
NES - Road Runner (Tengen)
NES - Treasure Master
NES - Yoshi
NES - Caveman Games
NES - 10-Yard Fight
Genesis - Game Genie

I've already got Yoshi on both 3DS Virtual Console (Ambassador's Program) and Wii U Virtual Console (30 cent promotion), but it's nice to have a cart.
10-Yard fight I only bothered with because I'd like all the black box games sooner or later.
Road Runner's got a rental sticker on the back, on the warning label, that looks like it'll VOID VOID VOID if I peel it.
Also, my friend's name is not Drew.

In the upper right we've got:
NES - Karate Kid
GBC - Pokemon Trading Card Game
GBC - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Genesis - InsectorX
Genesis - Eternal Champions
Book - Wind Waker Official Player's Guide

Karate Kid's got some guck on the font label, but it looks like it'll come off easily. Also, yes, it's a bad game.
InsectorX has got a combination of partial rental sticker on the front and hole where the rest of the rental sticker was poorly removed.
The Wind Waker Player's Guide he threw in for free, though I wasn't sure if I had it or not. Turns out, I do. Probably got it for renewing my Nintendo Power subscription at some point after I beat the game, since it's got one of those mailing stickers on it but I remember looking at sea charts on Gamefaqs. *shrug*

In the bottom-left it's:
NES - Burger Time
NES - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
NES - Stanley: The Search for Dr. Livingston
NES- Bubble Bobble
NES - Mach Rider

Burger Time's got a rental sticker on the back, but it's not on the warning label, so no problemo
Bubble Bobble is a dupe, but it's label is in slightly better condition than mine. There's also sticker guck on the back, but I can easily swap out the backs if I can't get that off completely.
And Stanley's got a random barcode sticker on the label, and Mach Rider an easily dealt with 50 cent sticker.

Finally, bottom-right...

Genesis - Dynamite Headdy
Genesis - Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Genesis - Ms. Pac-man
Genesis - Batman Returns
Genesis - Sonic 3D Blast
Genesis - Spider-Man (The Animated Series)
Genesis - Championship Bowling
Genesis - Pink Goes Hollywood
Genesis - Taz in Escape from Mars

Championship Bowling is missing a chunk of label on the front and has a rental sticker on the back, but it was basically thrown in for free.
Pink Panther has remnants of a round sticker on the front.
Taz in Escape from Mars is a dupe, but my copy won't load and I can't open it up because it's got odd screws that I've seen on a few Genesis carts... Not the standard 4.5 mm "Gamebit" ones... More like a hex screw with a prong in the middle.

Fuck, I gladly pay $200 for a TG-16 CD complete with the carry case. Still a pricey system, but that's much better than what these things average at nowadays!

Nice! 7th Saga.

I just picked that one up a couple of weeks ago.

Started a new game and got my ass handed to me in the first battle.  Gotta love that old school difficulty.

Good luck with the Gamecube port of Mega Man Anniversary .... they reversed the jump and shoot buttons and you can't change them back.

I got lucky, i saw similar set up for about $350 on the completed listing , and i can always sell the cdrom part and keep just the turbografx 16 , cd games are hella expensive and lets not talk about the system card version 3  :o ... The seller sent the system without packaging just inside the carrying case to save on shipping i was really suprise the case held together  >:( ...

Yeah, at this point I would too, as sad as that seems :-\

The market just isn't as big as it is for the NES, SNES, and Genny and it won't ever be (it can't.  There just isn't the supply of games like there is for the other systems).  But I bet it'll happen at some point.

I just won a massive switch box on ebay.  Gonna take work and $$$ to make it do the job I need, but it's gonna be so awesome when it's done!  12 inputs, 8 outputs.  I can run composite, S-vid, component, and whatever else will run through coaxial cable ;D

These also showed up yesterday.  Got my new guy testing them all out.  So far they all seem to be 100% salvageable :D

The 3DO lives.

Took a bit more work then I thought. Turns out the gear was busted on the old drive so I bought an old Apple CD 300 drive that was made by Matshushita/Panasonic around the same time. The guts were basically the same I only had to swap the drive motor but the laser/assembly + everything else from the Apple drive worked perfectly.
