Personally the XboxOne is kind of a "meh" for me at the moment. I feel like i should be in the honeymoon faze where my excitement is blinding me of the flaws the system has (what usually happens). I've felt it with every console announced since the beginning but this one isn't really generating a whole lot of personal excitement ... AND i actually played my 360 most out of this past generation.

We shall see what E3 can do to try and sway me to pick one up at launch.

I think you guys are just old guys and can't embrace change! Did you not see the comparison video of detail from MW3 and COD Ghost? Huge I mean HUGE difference! I personally will get it on launch!

Umm ... are you trolling us?

Its not that no one wants to embrace change, its that the change is going to cost the consumer much more in the long run per game. Just an educated guess but i would say half of the games people buy are pre-owned. With a fee associated with a pre-owned product arises then gamers will in turn end up simply spending more money.  This whole 'extra fee for used games' thing is convoluting things so badly its quite a turn off. Personally i probably buy 5 new games a year and the rest are all pre-owned. I like the feeling of getting a good deal every once and a while plus some games i do have the desire to play but i simply don't think they are worth the premium they cost new (ie: most fighting games ... I'm not paying $60 for one, no way!).

Cod of Duty comparisons. Uh yeah a game that was made two years ago should look terrible in comparison to a brand new game. Especially when its on new hardware and the company who makes the games has more money to pour into R & D than they know what to do with.  ;)

"Just to confuse matters even more, Microsoft's Phil Harrison has suggested that if you 'loan' a game to a friend they'll have to pay effectively the full price of the game to unlock it on thier console.

Basically when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account.

"It sits on your hard drive and you have permission to play that game as long as you'd like," Phil Harrison told Kotaku."

Presumably this means that those of us who have a games room, and a current gen set up in the lounge would need 2 licenses for any game we want to play on 2 machines?  If they are trying to market this as an all in one entertainment system, then I would assume they would like people to have more than one console in the house.  Plenty of people these days have a man cave, home cinema room, games room, etc.  I really don't think they have thought this through logically.  Someone in their r&d department needs to be fired.

As a side note,  I think the hardware looks gorgeous.  And seems they fixed the d-pad too

I know i will end up getting one, as i'm like a magpie to shiny things when it comes to electronics.  But it wont be at launch, and it wont be until they stop contradicting themselves in interviews. lol.

Looks like I'll wait until there is an exclusive that I can't go without playing before buying any of these 3 newer systems.
Wii U = Zelda
PS4 = maybe a GoW game
360 = possibly a Fable game.

 I haven't been wanting to play ANY games lately.....not sure why.

Based on what I've been reading it sounds like the game is more so tied to your live account than your actual hardware.  Meaning that playing the same game on multiple machines in one house is possible.

 I may be wrong, but that's what I got out of it.

I've never been an X-Box fan, and seeing all these newfangled systems with ultra-high prices tags is sickening. I already have a Blu-Ray player, so HD isn't something I need in a console. Plus, downloadbale exclusives like restored arcade classics tick me off. Bill Gates should've left gaming alone. :(

It IS account based. That means anyone with multiple account on their X-Box will NOT be able to play games between accounts without paying the fee. This new X-Box is a load of crap. I don't care what it does or what games it has. I won't be buying it out of principal. They are taking away control from the consumer little by little. It's going to hurt the rental industry and the used game sellers. I think everyone should boycott this damn thing and I feel that anyone that buys it is a fool.

It's a pretty nice looking box, but the dust collector at the top (giant mess of slats/vents), ugh, that'll be fun to blow out with canned air every 3 days :(

I said this in another post when there were rumors about it being always online and people were saying they weren't gonna get it: overreaction to something we don't know everything about. I probably won't be getting this day one only because I think it will be very expensive but I am excited to see what else is in store. When the Dreamcast came out almost 15 years ago I didn't pay attention/didn't want it until I played it at Target the day it came out and had to have one. If it has amazing games on it that are better than the versions on PS4/Wii U or even exclusive people will buy it even if it has some stupid DRM like features.

But we know about it now. Something's aren't as bad as expected, and some other things are a hell of a lot worse. I'm still not getting it. I have no plans to buy an on-line subscription, and considering you need to be on-line to register the game, that's 50 odd euro that I'm tied down to spend every 14 months. Kinect is also mandatory, something I have no interest in, so that's another extra expense their bundling with the console that I don't need/want. No used game (now days) are worth their retail price, plus an addition fee, which will likely be 10-20 dollars.

Where is the overreaction in comment? Who are you to tell people their overreacting?

If I'm honest, I'm happy that their doing this. I'm saving 500 - 700 euro by not buying it!
I just think people saying they won't (or will for that matter) buy this or PS4 based on the teasers we've seen are overreacting. We still have not seen any gameplay or played the games for ourselves. I did say in that post that I probably won't buy it because I'm sure it will be very expensive. I want to see more and play it myself before I make a decision and think some people who are saying they won't get it now are being hard headed and should wait until it's out to make a final decision.

That's cool. Your entitled to your opinion brother. I shall not be getting it.

i loved the press conference. everything was just as bad as you'd expect. way things are looking, we're now getting one entry this gen that will just be a lightning rod for everything and everyone i don't want to be associated with. hopefully that just leaves more room for sony and nintendo to step it up.
if that came across as fanboyish, i apoligize. i just don't like what the industry has become and this new device can potentially channel a lot of that away from my favorite hobby. since all the hardware players are trying to break out of the console gen cycle to stay relevant in the face of new tech, hopefully they'll all have their own sort of crowd and it'll be much easier to decide which platform is relevant for your product.
