Xbox One
FritzWhite:
I've been an xbox fan since the xbox one.. uh, I mean the first, original xbox before the 360. I'm 8 years going on 9 on my xbox live account.
I was done with the x one after the always online, no used games announcement. Even though they took it back after the negative backlash, the trust is gone. I don't think I'll be going with a ps4 either. I think its dumb that Sony and Mshaft do not allow you to bring any of your digital content purchases over to the next gen, even though much of the same content will still be available for purchase on the new platforms. One of these days I'll upgrade to a current gen gaming system in the form of a gaming pc. It will be my first pc to play games on, but I look forward to trying the next level.
I'm also baffled by MS marketing for the xbone. What is with all of the super old corporate execs talking about the system in the presentations? Now personally, I'm more concerned with the system specs and games than a presentation or ad, sure, but they should have intelligent, attractive people talking about the system, not corporate dinosaurs. Major Nelson's ok, but the rest stink.
Also, as everyone else has said there's way too much talk about tv and sports. In spite of all of that, it's still going to hurt a little not playing new Halo when it comes out

Ugghhh I know what you mean bro, after gamecube I left nintendo for a while. What made me get the xbox original was halo 2 and what made me go buy a 360 was halo reach and i already know halo 5 will be a ONE exclusive so I will be super sad that I cant play it when it comes out. Hell the only exclusive I can really say im dying to play is Bayonetta 2, so after 2 generations I might be going back to nintendo. With the assassins creed 3 and arkham release on the wii u Im thinking that minus halo Nintendo has got all all the franchises I love all on one platform (hopefully they keep going).
Microsoft has lost all my turned me away they just reminded me that they really only care about profits rather than the gamer (but thats capitalism i guess). The only reason they removed all the restrictions is they knew Sony was riding them by using their mess up to its advantage. So this means that the second microsoft feels they can get away with they are going to bring back restrictions. Maybe ill get a one if it comeswith out the kinect and halo 5 is already out

If not, it may be more advantageous to buy them both online, depending on the tax rate in your state/county. Sales tax is 8% in my county, so it would be worth it for me if Amazon didn't charge sales tax here (they do).

Not even for a Rose Colored Gaming special edition dedicated Killer Instinct cabinet? ;)

And if you are taking requests, I'll take one in the shape of an original Midway cabinet to set to the left of the rest :D

I cannot support Microsoft's moronic attempt to thwart the used game market (which helps them far more than it hinders them), their draconian DRM, and their mind bogglingly invasive hardware. Sure, they reeled a lot of that back in after massive backlash from the community, but there's no reason on Earth that they can't re-implement any of that whenever they want, and I can't imagine that they won't. Sony has done a lot of what they were trying to do, just without a big announcement and in little chunks here and there (which somehow makes it more palatable for me).
All that said, I would still love to build something like that. I know I'll end up with it in my collection at some point, it just won't be any time soon, and I sure as hell won't be purchasing a download-only game to build a cabinet around if it's gonna require that I connect to the internet every XX amount of hours. Hopefully Dark Alex will be working hard on the One...

I dont know if you were replying to me? I take it you were but Sales Tax where I live is 6.35% and Amazon does not charge sales tax here.
25% discount is too good to pass up. Saving about $230

I've been watching this, VideoGameAwesome's XBone day 1 experience!
It takes them up to part 6 to get the Kenect working.
TSOLfan:
I've been thoroughly enjoying mine, though, this is the only game I have (and planned on having short term at least):
I threw it on top of one of my spare KI boards (one must have backups) for scale purposes. I expected a Blu-ray size game case like the rest, but it's massive.
Thus far, my only complaint with the new KI is the clipping. You don't notice it during matches, though, in training mode, if you walk right up to your opponent, instead of overlapping like the original sprite based KI games, the models totally intersect (as in, Sabrewulf's head goes straight through Jago's chest and out his back).
Oh, and I do have a second complaint, and that is, Jago no longer has his slide from KI2. Though, I'll admit, having a character with two ways to completely clear the screen, one that went over low attacks (his standard Wind Kick) and one that went under high attacks and most projectiles (his slide) was a bit unfair (and one of the reasons why Jago was my main in KI2).
Oh, and also, learn from my mistake. Turn off Game Resume if you sunk a ton of time into the free version while you waited on your Pin Ultimate edition to arrive in the mail. Game Resume is awesome in that it throws all games into a suspend state and they instantly resume (and I can go from my XO off to a KI match in about 3 seconds-5 seconds), though, it wouldn't recognize that I had put in my code, since the game wouldn't restart, only resume. I had to turn off Game Resume temporarily and restart my XO so when I launched KI it would actually restart and not just resume and during a restart it rechecks DLC, and then everything was good.
This weekend, with the holidays, family and friends are all piling over here on the 30th for a "next-gen" gathering, and my brother is bringing his PS4, a cousin is bringing his, and a friend is bringing his XO, and I also have my Wii U, so we'll have my XO and my brother's PS4 A/B'd into my receiver, and the other PS4 and XO on the table in our media room hooked up to side by side 24" 1080P monitors (between friends and family, we have copies of most cross platform games to compare for ourselves) and of course, the Wii U is for 4 player Super Mario 3D World.
Long story short, we're all just going to crash and play games and be ignorant of any "console wars", other than to amuse ourselves with our side-by-side Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed 4.
Hopefully everyone else is enjoying whatever "next-gen" system they picked up, if any.
