talked with some tech-savvy people a few years back how the future would be smart tvs and cloud-computing. still think we were right, but smart tvs are held back for some reason while the cloud, sadly not being a viable solution to anything as of yet, is used more as an excuse to forego bc (ps4) and force always-on under the guise of server processing (sim city, xbone). |

So, Microsoft will be setting the used price values? That's laughable. I can see 1,000 copies of Madden '14 for $55 sitting on Gamestop's shelves from now until eternity if that's the case. Plus, can you imagine retailers getting just 10% of a used sale?! That's less than the margin on new, and new takes ZERO work to sell versus used, making used retail worthless to the likes of GS. Also, the proposed system means no selling on ebay or amazon, since you won't be going through their fucking bullshit "cloud-enabled Azure pre-owned technology" system. Give me a fucking break. Go Microsoft! Exploit the people who WANT to spend money, not the hackers who you are afraid will steal your money (and they FUCKING will with record speed I bet). Nothing about this proposal makes me feel ANY better about the X1 >:( |
