Euro Nintendo Regions?

I was wondering if anyone has a region list that relates to the little coloured triangles on the corners of EU Nintendo games?

I know the UK gets green triangles on the spines/manuals and are Germany's pink?
Anyone know the other colours?

UK is green as you know - Australia is brown - the Pinky/purple ones are Euro Multi's, that are in 2-3 languages
not sure of any others.

The colour of the triangle can be used to identify which country/region the particular title is intended for and which manual languages are included. There are 49 different coloured triangles

The most common ones I know and I am sure are right are Germany (dark blue), Italy (light blue) and France (red). I can confirm that UK is green as my Resident Evil Wii Edition is a UK import and it has the green triangle.

I googled a bit and Scandinavia has light green triangles, pink is Europe (i.e multilanguage which covers most European regions),

Yeah, it's crazy. I mean they differentiate between southern and northern European countries. On top they differentiate between certain regions WITHIN these territories (Benelux countries, Scandinavia). Combined with all sorts of variations of languages on the back and languages included in the manual you get 49

I've just sent Nintendo an email asking if they can give me a complete or at least a more comprehensive list as google doesn't help a lot apart from the colors we've already confirmed. I'm very courious.

I guess that explains why we have to wait so long for our damn releases.
I wouldn't want to work on the localization of that many games!

I got a reply from Nintendo germany regarding my question about the coloured traingles. They told me that these triangles represent the languages included in the manual (which we already knew) and that this issue shouldn't be of any interest to me (no joke, that's what they said, they basically told me it's none of my f'n business). Maybe Nintendo UK is more helpful when you send them an email. I doubt it though.

So, again, we have to find them out ourselves. Going through my collection of Wii, GC and DS games I can confirm that Germany is dark blue and UK is dark green.

My Capcom Vs SNK 2 EO for Gamecube has a light green triangle and German and Spanish text on the back and in the manual as well as the German and Spanish age rating.

WWE Day of Reckoning has a pink triangle and has German and French text on the back and the manual is also in French and German.
Curiously enough my Castlevania Dawn Of Sorrow also has a pink triangle but has English, German, Spanish, Italian and dutch included in the manual. Maybe they use different triangle codes for DS games than Wii and Gamecube? Man this is weird

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Lockdown has a violet triangle and the languages in the manual are French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German and English.
Project Rub (aka Feel the Magic XY/XX) also has a violet triangle but has only French, German and Dutch in the manual.

Well there you have it, the only thing that seems to be set in stone is that dark blue means German language only and dark green is English language only.

I did a little homework and found a bit on wikipedia under the topic of video game packaging.

The boxes of Nintendo games (Game Cube, DS and Wii) from PAL territories all have a little coloured triangle on their spines, but in each territory it's a different colour (to show the region that copy of the game came from), Some common ones are: Green = UK, Pink = Spain, Red = France, Light Blue = Italy, Dark Blue = Germany, Brown = Australia. There are 49 different colours. As well as geographic region it is also to do with the language of the box art & booklets, though PAL region Nintendo games are made in Germany, the Triangles show the region that the game is shipped to.

That's 6 out of 49. Why is it that the little trivial questions need the most digging for answers?

I wonder how all this adds up to 49? I mean they seem to have different colors for all possible combinations otherwise there's no chance in hell you'd get 49. Taking into account that I have games with 6 different languages included, which alone covers the biggest part of Europe, there's gotta be some pretty wild combinations
