I just want to post a Happy Mother's Day message.

I took my kid to the park late tonight and found a nice vase of fresh flowers sitting abandoned on a table. The park was completely empty the whole time we were there so at the end the vase came with me. Saves me having to spend $10-20 on flowers for mom now so... score!

So many mothers are vastly unappreciated, and I admit I've fallen short a lot as a son. The constant work that so many Moms - married or single - do every day is crazy, and they deserve a ton of recognition. Happy Mama's Day to all of them in here!

I was going to take my mom out to dinner after work today because I now actually have my own income, but she could not decide on a place, we were not that hungry, all places were probably crowded, so I'm going to go it some other time soon, I don't need some arbitrary corporate holiday to treat my mother. 

We went to Cosi, a local sandwich chain,  for dinner, her sandwich had raw bacon,  that sucked.

This post scared the shit out of me. I was like "What the fuck? Today's mothers days? I'm fucked, I got nothing!" *guilt quickly follows*.

Then I realized, Americans celebrate mothers day on a different day to us Irish. *panic over*.
