I've tried in both GIMP and MS Paint and can't get it to work. Image dimensions are 3366x2100 which is correct for the UGC which I'm using. Paper size I'm using is A4 (Tried setting printer to both legal and A4 and neither work)

The right hand side of the cover always gets cut off a bit. So, for example, on the bottom right hand side of the N64 covers is the rating and then to the right of that is "Nintendo" written vertically. That bit of vertical text is always cut off. Anyone know what's going wrong? I've checked several times and my settings are the exact same as the guide shows.

Weird.  That was happening to me with GIMP as well.  No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to go away.  I said eff it and and I started using the free version of Photoshop to print everything.  No problems since.

I was pretty pissed because I printed out about 8 covers before I noticed the problem.  Hell, I had trimed half of them before I saw it.... >:(
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

It's generally how the print driver itself works, and with the paper size. One work around it print in the center of the page.  This also lets you print a low quality, black and white version of it on the back side.  For UGCs or clear DS cases the effect it great.

On MS Paint is very easy to fix the problem.
Print > Preferences:
Tab Paper/Quality - letter size
Tab Effects - REAL SIZE.

Done :)

I recently went to a retro expo in seattle and it re-ignited my love for retro games and my rather displeasure of my game storage.
The place I go play MTG at store owner is big into retro gaming as well and has a very nice display of UGC with games.
That being said I would like to make some covers for my gameboy/GBA games and I decided to try and follow this guide's advice to printing them out.

Several attempts through paint had the image come out had the cover come out 1/2 an inch to short and 3/8 of an inch too narrow. Did I miss something? Or was there a special step I had to take for DS sized covers? For reference I tried pokemon sapphire and Golden Sun covers (both GBA)

Also found out my printer has not the best quality of images spitting out so I plan to take them to my town's local print shop to get the covers done, hence the worry about my DS covers (and possible UGC covers). With the shrunk size of UGC's do I need to shrink the image before taking them in? I've never actually had anything printed before (everything before I did not care enough about)

Apologies if this has been answered before, I could not find the issue I was encountering on the site.

I think I've asked this before, and probably got an answer, and probably lost it. So here goes again...

Does anybody know a good source of legal sized semigloss inkjet paper?

Matte has been awesome for UGC's, but I'd like to use semigloss for DVD cases. Can anybody help?

I use redriverpaper.com. Right now I'm printing everything on 45lb zeppelin semigloss, they sell it in legal size.

Thank you! The 32lb. gloss that they carry should work perfect for DVD cased covers. That's exactly what I was looking for.

To piggyback on that question. Can anyone point me to the printer they use? I have a crap one right now and would like some recommendations. Is there a thread on this already somewhere that anyone knows of?

So I was having trouble printing some GBA covers from the site.  Specifically Breath of Fire2, Wade Hixton's Counter Punch, Karnaaj Rally, Onimusha Tactis, Pocky and Rocky, Shining Soul2.  I think I figured out why these were printing too big on legal paper.  When I opened Wade Hixton's Counter Punch in paint.net I checked the pixel size via the image button on the toolbar under resize. I found the pixel size to be correct, but the print size width and height was different from the other GBA cover images that were printing correctly.

Cover that printed correctly.
Width 10.87
Height 4.57

Cover that printed wrong.
Width 9.31
Height 3.91

I adjusted the width and height to match the correct width and height in paint.net and saved the image and was able to print the images at the correct size.  I hope this helps others.

Take care.

Hello, Kmem92norway here.

I have a problem to print covers for my Universal game cases due to the fact that I am using A4 paper for the job.

How do I get the right measures for the game case with standard European A4 printing paper or photo paper?

Just print at 100% scale with borders smaller than 5mm and all is fine.

I too use A4 paper, and covers fit perfectly.

Thank you, for replying.

I have just received 10 new Universal game cases for my N64 collection, and I plan to print the original covers of Conker“s Bad Fur Day, Mario Party 2, Excitebike 64 and Rayman 2 The Great Escape. (I have already downloaded the files from the Cover Project).

I need the exact measurements (mm or cm) to print these properly in order to fit the case as desired.

Sincerely greetings

i also use a small program that someone posted here called Undercover XP.  Makes printing ULTRA easy once you understand it.
Here is how to set it up:  http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=4850.0
