I hope these help. There are 2 scans of each... a front and back at 300dpi   and bigger files, front and back, at 600dpi.  ADMINISTRATORS let me know if these are correct. THANKS

Just checked them, and unfortunately no go.

All were partly out of focus.
See front's K-A rating and Super Nintendo text and you'll see what I mean.

Also Moire effect showing (see the how black lines, the gray areas behind yoshi texts ans the spots on the egg are like made of little flowers).

The 300DPI ones are completely not usable at all as there is wierd banding on the image as well as pixelated mush (I have no idea what has happened).

600DPI images would be usable if you manage to flatten the box even better. (put hard book on the cover and add some weight).
I think some of our artists can now fix the moire quite well.

Don't discourage, with some fiddling with the settings you might find better settings, but they do vary from box to box.

And some covers are unscannable, for example I can't get SNES Toy Story scans come out fine at all. BAD MOIRE ALWAYS!!! ;D

Ok, what do I set the printers scan size to? and I dont see anything that says moire effect. I'm trying to flatten the box and try again

Yeah not all scanners can remove moire, but it's also known as desceen or de-rasterize.
Might be also option for scanning magazines.

Try 600DPI with no other filters than moire removal if you find it.
Try saving as png, might help.

Bit better as the pixelated mushines is gone.

Still out of focus a bit, but less.

moire same.

I'd say almost usable.

I'll post the 2 last ones here so others can weigh in too.

The scans: http://www.mediafire.com/?ke62cnu3966bn

Anyone got any ideas to better them.
Maybe put the box between 2 hard books and sit on them for a while (I actually do this as my fat hot butt flattens the boxes very well ;D).

Still out of focus. ;)

Scanner lid is too flexible the keep the box flat.
Put hard cover book that is bigger than the box but smaller than the scanner bed (so it doesn't rest on the edges) on the box then add some weight when scanning.

See how I use Guinness book of records (click to download):

Just checked you last (5.0) front scan.... .... .... and no blur found :D

Also moire level was reduced so that scan is now definitely usable.
