Total came to about $3 a game.  Every game was functional but this one especially needed some work.  I already cleaned up the cart a bit but then I noticed it needed a lot more.  Should I post more pics here or elsewhere for some expert advice?

Post them in the Cleaning. How Do You Do? thread.

To clean the cart, any amonia based solution will do (think windex). Alcohol is definitely one of the best cleaning agents, so if you can get your hands on 91% isopropyl alcohol that will definitely clean the cart up.

If your talking about the contacts, it depends what condition there in.

It there just dirty then an eraser or alcohol will do. I personally just use an eraser and WD40 to clean the contacts. It there really funky you could try brasso. I use it rarely, but there was one instance I knew nothing else would work. The contacts had what looked like battery leakage on them, this bluey green shit. A old t-shirt and a dab on brasso cleaned them right up. There was still spots of rust here and there (like 3 tiny spots), but the game worked perfect.

The contacts will loose there copper color and go a silvery color, but they will be fine. It is very abrasive, so you don't need to use anything else with it, literally an old t-shirt or que tip will do fine, just make sure to clean any residue left. So clean with brasso first, then alcohol to clean any residue left, then your set (if you have to use brasso).

If you haven't invested in a 3.8 (and a 4.5 for genesis games) security bit, or a tri-wing screw driver/bits, you should really think about doing so. They will make cleaning your games a lot easier, especially for games with battery powered saves. It the battery does leak, the only way you'll be able to clean it is by opening up the cartridge.

Thanks! I definitely need to get the screw bit.  I'll post to the cleaning board. Hopefully someone will have a suggestion for me before I attempt opening this thing up.  You'll see why.  Will post in a little while.

Cool. I edited the original post a little bit, nothing drastic, you got the idea from the first read.

Yeah definitely throw them in there, and once you get the bits, take a picture of the contacts and put them up there as well.

Give us a second I'll get you the link for the thread.

I have never met a game with such dirty contacts that a Q-tip and a bit of cleaning solution (or spit, if you're poor) in the end wouldn't clean. I'm always amazed of how much dirt comes off those carts, and I try to clean mine whenever I sell them so that the buyer can use them instantly.
