While my Value Village does gouge the crap out of retro games, it is a great game that I have been waiting to find cheap :)

I just got this for $.30 on my Wii U and am really mad that I never played this in my teens. It is such an amazing game.

I just did last night as well. I "own" it three times over now (SNES, Wii, Wuu).

Of course I only bought it since it was .30, but I still couldn't help but play for about an hour. Such a great game.

I also found this DS from the same guy and he also only wanted $5 for it. I kinda figured it wasn't going to work but for the price I took a chance. Surprisingly it does work and the battery holds a good charge, I'll just have to replace the bottom screen, the digitizer still works though so overall not too bad.

There's an easy fix for that problem on youtube. Check out retrotech. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll post the video.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Machine loose.

two popular games by the price of one, R$ 45,00 here. the seller probably don't know nothing about those two games. I used my Winter Games (MS) to reduce in R$ 5,00 the price.. but I still think was a good deal.

Btw, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine need to be restaured .-.

I hope you mean $45.00 and $5.00, Forty five thousand and Five thousand dollars is way to much of any of them.  ;)

Lol, well in his profile it says he lives in brazil and in brazil they use the "," instead of a "." to seperate dollars from cents so instead of being $45.00 it's 45,00.  And doing a quick conversion, 45 brazilian reals comes out to some 22 bucks and the 5 reals is like 2.50.

But my girlfriend is brazilian also and she says that things over there including video games and electronics are insanely over priced :\ so I don't think it's a bad deal all things considered

Games cost a fortune all over South America. It's why piracy is so rampant :/

I've said it before but I'll say it again - I'm so incredibly jealous of how vibrant the swapmeet / garage sale / flea market culture is over at the US. I understand that your whole video game market and populace is a bit bigger than here in Finland, but it still pains me horribly to see people score all these great games for great prices (that Super Metroid for 7,99 $ pains me physically) and even have whole chains of businesses dedicated for selling of retro game merchandise.

To put it into perspective, I live in a town that has around 125 000 people and have been going over flea markets for a few years, and NEVER found ANY games older than PS1. (incidentally, picked up a copy of Colin McRae Rally today for 1,50 €.) A person I know said he once found ONE boxed copy of RC Pro-Am. People are finding some stuff in bigger cities, though, so it might be just that over here the market is picked clean by now. I don't know if people sell their NES and SNES solely on online auctions or in fact just keep them in their garages.

^^^

I did see a PS2 and XBOX for sale today and would've bought them for 10 $. But they were about 50 €. It was funny though to chat with the flea market owner with the insane prices people mark this old stuff to and then never have it leave the shelves.

Consider yourself lucky.  I live outside a village.  The village has less than 100 people, and no shops. The nearest video games shops are probably an hour drive away, and the French do not buy into the whole selling for cheap thing.  They sell second hand, for slightly cheaper than new prices.  It's bizarre.  In the 2.5 years I have been here, I have only managed 1 second hand bargain on a bunch of used GameCube titles, the rest of the time I have to use eBay uk, but alot of sellers won't ship here.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding of the "," and "." XD, it's true, we use "," to separate  Reals from cents. next time I'll make sure to use the right way =P.

But my girlfriend is brazilian also and she says that things over there including video games and electronics are insanely over priced :\ so I don't think it's a bad deal all things considered

completely true, unfortunately =\, as I said some posts ago, the modern ones are expansive by nature, for be a "new" technology...and the old games and consoles are overvalued just for be classified by the seller as (sometimes) "rare" or something like that. .-.

but we can find some other ways to buy something, just waiting the price reduce or searching more deep on sites and stores ;). I personally don't support pirates games. (despite of my childhood have been accompanied by the majority of pirated games, I didn't know the difference and who was accostumed to bring games for me not were so worried about that :\/).

Got a few things in the mail today:

As most of you can probably tell, I got a GBA Light from wiggy and my games look just amazing on it. He also painted an N64 cartridge pink so I can stick a custom label on it for Kirby 64. The other package had a green GBA SP from shopgoodwill.com. So, I went from having two GBAs, one SP and one original purple, to none (traded them to wiggy) back to two in about a week or so.

Nah the screen's shot, it's actually got a crack in the lower left hand corner that I found when I was pushing hard on it to see what may happen. Already got a new screen coming for it. Only cost like $6.
