This came in the mail today! Just when I thought I was "done" looking for games, I had to find another system. Now, I gotta find out if my Genesis that has been sitting in a box works so I can test this out.

Fuck yeah! Just scooped up a CIB copy of Conker's Live & Reloaded for $2 at my favorite hock shop!

Funny thing is, not even a month they had a copy for sale for $35 because the new guy they hired liked to check ebay before pricing everything. In the time he was there, I saw a bunch of stuff sell for much more than what it use to before he came along. Now that he's been gone, prices are going back to normal! I got my hock shop back! ;)

I say good riddance to him. Want to sell for eBay prices? Then sell on Ebay! Simple as that.
I remember I went to a fleamarket once and I asked how much they wanted for Rygar(NES), they told me, "hold on, my guy is checking eBay," I roll my eyes >_> then he says $25. $25 for a loose Rygar? LOL!

Got the Famicom version of Little Samson today. It has a different name and the title screen is different other than that its the same game. Way cheaper this way. I like Famicom games anyways so I am happy having this version.

That's exactly what I always say! I was going to suggest that they put up a sign saying "We now sell our games at eBay prices!" ;)

Oh god, I would have turned around and walked away before they could even come up with a price! Then if they asked why I was walking away, Id respond with "Because I didnt come to the flea market to pay eBay prices!!!"

Good thinking! Do Famicom games pop right into a NES and work? I'm too lazy to google. Thank you

Fritz you need an adapter to play them on a NES. The adapters aren't very hard to find. Just look up 60 to 72 pin converters. I have run across 2 of them over the years but traded my extra one away. They are well worth picking up since there are a bunch of Famicom games that were never released in America.

Or you can find a copy of Gyromite with the converter in it, and replace Gyromite with Little Samson. Then you could print out a label for it and it would pop right in an NES, no converter needed. I might consider doing this. I'm going to start looking for a Famicom version.

I take it Little Samson is not a text heavy game where you would appreciate the English text? Because if it's not, then definetly will get the Famicom version. Do all Gyromites have the converter, I have that game. This is a great solution for expensive games.

Also do this with Gradius II which -to my understanding- is almost in full English (the famicom version).

Not a lot of text, mostly just awesome platforming. I'm keeping my eye out for this game now. There's on one from Japan on ebay currently, but it's already bid up over $60 and it still has almost 2 days left.

Ben76, where did you get your copy and how much was it? Thanks

Edit: looks like Famicom Little Samson usually goes for $80-90 on Ebay from Japan. $25 for a Taiwanese knockoff. Ouch...

I think you will be looking at around $100 for one. There is one listed right now with the manual that may bring a bit more due to the manual. It is from the seller I bought mine from. He doesn't have much feedback yet but the game I got was nice and he sent it quickly. It looks like he is trying to sell games that would be more in demand over here in the states. Mine was a bit over $100 with shipping. I put a snipe bid on it and barely won it. So I think there are several others actively looking for this game as well. As long as the NES version is as expensive as it is I think the Famicom version may go up in price as well.

I have a Gyromite cart with a convertor as well. I just use a 60 to 72 pin convertor though its way easier than taking the carts apart. Plus I have a good bit of Famicom carts I like to play like Goonies , Crisis Force, Kid Dracula, etc.

The price of the famicom version is steadily rising as well. I paid around 90 € for my PAL B cart and I think I got a pretty good deal on it considering it was a bit rarer SCN (scandinavia) release. It seems like it's even rarer to find a copy of the NTSC version, so if you are looking to get it, maybe you could try the PAL version?
