It's because it was somehow made it at 72dpi at an insane image size to compensate (47" x 27").

Here's a corrected file for ya.

It's because some numbnuts made it at 72dpi at an insane image size (47" x 27").

That's not always intentional, I know few SNES covers that show up 96 DPI on XP Paint, but 300DPI on W7 Paint and Paintshop.

96DPI cure is to print at 32% scale, and 72DPI cure was 17% scale IIRC (not sure).

I know nothing about paint, and I sure as hell don't use it.  Came up as 72dpi in Photoshop, and I've got to imagine that's what was used to make the image :/

Like I said: That's not always intentional, in this case too maybe, as they might have just forgotten to reset the DPI.

I amend my previous comment (though you quoted me, so it's sorta moot :P)

That's something that needs to be checked on uploads, for sure! (That is, if it isn't already and that particular cover comes from a time that predates such checks)

Having a similar problem with GBA Warioland 4.  This one prints too small.  Trying to set it right.  What's the correct DPI?

The resolution is at 350 on that one but it should be 300. So if you're using Photoshop, go to Image then Image Size and change Resolution to 300. When you do this the Pixel Dimensions and Document Size will change so just change Pixel Width back to 3260 and Height to 1370 and it should print the perfect size.

Just noticed you said you open in Preview and print @99% so 300/350 is 85% try that and see if it fits.

Wouldn't that make it even smaller?

Oh I didn't see it was too small try 350/300 = 116.67%. I'm not sure it will work because I have never printed from preview but it seems logical.
