Here I'll start posting my attempts to do covers, don't be surprised at the poor quality of some :X, I also intend to collect tips and suggestions to improve my technique. most of my covers so far are done for future games which I still want to have (I'm serious, lol, I prefer to store the box on my computer for the perfect occasion =P) and other things for my personal collection, but this does not I mean, obviously, that I don't want to contribute to the site too .. If some of my covers  can get to level that is accepted here, would like to contribute to the acernal as well. =).


I have here an attempt to recreate the cover of "Mônica no Castelo do Dragão" for Master System (a game that is actually a hack of "Wonder Boy in Monster Land" which was licensed and distributed officially by Tec-Toy here in Brazil) .

I did this using my own template, taking as base covers the North American of some Sonic games for the system (and Lord, I needed to do this, Tec-Toy tried to do unique covers to their games, but the only thing them got was destroy the standard of the Master System boxes, and besides everything, all look horrible).

What you guys think?, I intend to make a version for UGC too, but I have ideas of standardized the covers from Master System to something more "good", but without mischaracterize the colors and other details of this original pattern.

and would like to know .... what is the feeling of the people here with bootleg games? well, I won't invest too much on it, if it's against the rules or people not approve time spent in covers for games like these ... but you know, I have "Sonic "4"" for SNES, and I have a great affection with this game (even if it's bad lol) because it was big part of my childhood .. this inspired me to create a box for him, and then I ended up  encouraging me to created some others. I leave here to you guys check as preview with the Imandix, if you want to see details, and if I can show details, I'll show =).

They look good, but I just don't have any interest in covers for games that don't exist.

Thanks but these games exist. '-' well, at least the Monica game, here on Brazil, as I said, is a licensed game.

The rest also exist. They're pirate carts (and IIRC Sonic for the SNES is a hack of Speedy Gonzalez).

Let me rephrase my statement then:

I don't care about for covers of pirate games that I will probably never see or own in my lifetime.

I'm not trying to knock on your work, I am just completely indefferent to the games you chose.

Don't worry, I get your point ^^'. since the beginning I said that these boxes for Bootleg games is most for my own collection, I posted just for know if I'm doing the right way =P.

I basically did something very close to the Genesis Template, using some details from that system.. I thought would be cool those two keep some similarities for the covers.

...I dunno, but I already thought about to put in a single disc each ROM I have of arcade games to just put on my collection =P, ... but was fun do that ^^'.

It's hard to get a feel for quality with imandix previews (which I personally can't stand).  The Master System game looks nice and tidy though!

Oh, it's not my intention ^^'. I just wanted to share and ask for some suggestions to improve... anyway, but I believe that the Monica's game it's okay to be hosted, right? I'm working on Sonic The Hedgehog with the new template I made, after this, if I get a good result, I gonna redo Monica in this new format.

I decided to take off the description in several languages ​​and keep only the English version, and to fill more space I copied a piece of the description of the Genesis' version Cover. Also, I have to improvise a lot with the image of the front :S

I did miracles to be able to restore the art of the game, and even then, it was not a very good result in my opinion. .-. btw, if you guys think that the covers don't need more changes I'll upload these 3 that I did at UGC format, and maybe the Mônica's game from the beginning of the thread.
