Craigslist: the good, the bad, & the DERP!

Craigslist in my area is quite annoying...It seems like EVERYONE thinks what they have is worth a fortune and a lot of stuff is way over priced and nobody wants to budge or negotiate. Luckily I'm not in the market for most of the stuff that people are selling but I have been trying to find a Dreamcast.
One guy in the town next over had one for sale. It was a system with the cables a controller a sports game and some generator something or another discs. He was asking 40 for everything but I didn't feel like that was a worth the price given there were no games and no mem card/vmu. I might've been a bit of a douche by offering 20 but I was expecting him to negotiate a bit since I would've taken it for 30. 35 maybe but that was pushing it. All I get is a response saying he won't lower the price and that the discount is already applied on the bundle, but reading the email it seemed like he was offended by my offer and seemed mad at me. So I just sent him another email thanking him for his time and left it at that.
It's been over a month and that guy is still posting that ad along with many others...seems like no one else is biting and he might be sitting on it for a while...

The "I pay top dollar" ads piss me off to no end. I report them all the time since they are posted in the FS section and they're obviously not. No idea if that's effective or not. Often there are 4 or 5 right in a row from the same person. So annoying.
I have zero concern over whether or not I put off or offend someone with my offers. I feel like, if you can't handle someone haggling, then sell your shit on eBay or a local used shop. One guy tried to sell me a Meo Geo X Gold for 150 after asking about something else he had that sold.
I was like "is it brand new?" He goes "yes, I only played it once". So it's not new. Looked it up on amazon, they were $125 shipped at that point. Told him that and he goes "no, that's not be gold package". Took screen cap of it indeed being the gold package, sent it and offered 90 bucks. He never replied. Shocker.

Craigslist used to be good, but not anymore for me. People have crap and if they have something good for cheap, some douchebag tells them they have pricey stuff, then they change the price. AWESUM......... >_>

Ah, craigslist. Where would we be without you?
I've seen some interesting video-game related posts on CL in my day, but nothing too out of the ordinary.
There's one fellow I've met and continue to keep in contact with. He's an older guy who bought out a bunch of video stores a long time ago and has just had all these games sitting in storage. Anywho, I'm browsing craigslist one day and I noticed that a couple of games that he had (Mega Man 7 and Super Mario RPG, both with damaged labels) were being advertised for sale. I shot him an e-mail asking if it was his ad, but he tells me no and that he had sold those games earlier that afternoon. So someone probably bought MM7 for about 30 bucks from this guy and turned around and immediately put it up on craigslist, eventually selling it for $80.
It made me quite sad, actually.
