Enjoy the conversation I had with a kijiji (craiglist) seller:

Quote
Me:
Hello, are you available tomorrow for me to stop by?

Thank you, a fellow game collector.

Her:
Everything is priced in the garage.

Me:
That's fair. There's just no phone number or address or time availability posted on the ad.

Her:
Free now, barrhaven.

Me:
While Barrhaven gives me an idea to where you live. There's hundreds of homes in Barrhaven, making your garage a little vague to find.
Thanks.

Her:
Thanks, others are on the way.

Why bother?

I think I've dealt with this chick before .. very sketchy.

I'm not sure she even has the stuff she says she does.

Her add just has a picture of games and she seems to have lots of rare stuff.

Usually if people in Ottawa have a bunch of stuff on them it's because it's priced too high.

In my mind, I picture someone shouting, "Free now Barrhaven!" and then charging forward with a war cry. :P

It's starting to become a trend here in Ottawa. Selling everything you want, here are the pictures, loads of stuff MUST GO. Then ... *Puts no number, no address and will only answer to you by yes or no* ...... Thanks .... ::)

Hey guys, I have another deal or no deal. This lot seems a little overpriced to me, but I'd love to hear a second opinion in case there's some valuable game in here I'm missing. I like that some of them come with manuals, but I doubt that really bumps the value too much.

So what do you think? Thanks

Edit: I looked up some game values and I'm going to pass on these. I did find another lady selling Super Smash Bros for N64 for $10, but with traffic she's an hour away so it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Seems like a not-too-bad deal... but I can't imagine any situation in which I would need so many DS's!

How much are boxed Nintendo games worth?

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/vgm/4138983047.html

Edit: Seem like the price is pretty close to retail. Ok deal maybe, but not great.

Actually, all those together would be over $200 by internet prices. The Zeldas go for around $50 each themselves and 8 Eyes is around $30; most of the others are in their "teens". It's not bad, but it's your call.

Thanks for the info. There's a whole bunch of stuff popping up on craigslist at the moment. This caught my attention too. I think it's a good deal, but I'm looking for awesome deals. I requested a list of games though since some of the titles are blurred.

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/vgm/4139049191.html

Edit: Here's a game list, nothing rare, lots of sports:

Gameboy
Bo Jackson, baseball, track meet, mega man revenge, tetris, animaniacs

NES
Soccer, top gun, blades of steel, dino riki, contra, smb1, smb3, jackal, bad dudes, wheel of fortune, bubble bobble, godzilla

SNES
Tiny Toons: Buster busts loose, Frank Thomas, Joe and Mac, Ken Griffey, Street Fighter 2, Lemmings, Super Star Wars, NHL, NBA Jam, Madden, Troy Aikman, Power Moves, Super Mario Kart, Busby

Few good titles in there but I already have most of them so I'm going to pass on this one.

The Game Boy games alone are worth around $20 according to internet prices, while the NES games would cost around $80 combined (Contra being the most expensive cart). The SNES carts also come in at around $80 total, but there is a real lack of anything really worthwhile. However, keep in mind that the games alone are technically worth more than what the guy's asking, and that's not even including the consoles or any of the other tchotchkes.

Personally, I think you're right in not even bothering. Yeah, the numbers are pretty good, but the "dead weight" games are going to be a pain to flip, and there's a LOT of them.

You're right. It's a pretty good deal, but since I already own the games it's not worth it to me just to flip them. I appreciate your input

Edit: I checked my email and the guy with the boxed NES games was offering them for $165. Tempting, but I need to sell extra some of the game stuff I already have before I get more to flip.
