Just in case anyone needs to make a little extra cash on the side.

Quote
I am willing to pay somebody $250 for every retro-Nintendo Game they can teach my non-video game literate 54 year old best friend.

We would like to have more activities that we can do in common, and sense I grew up playing original Nintendo games, we decided that it would be cool if we were able to play them together. The problem is that I simply don't have the patience to teach her. Plus, since the end goal is for us to be able to play competitive games, a teacher other than me is needed.

Another challenge to overcome is that, beyond not being video-game literate, she also has a slightly below average knowledge of sports, so be prepared to teach/give a little basic sport orientation for each sporting game.

The first batch of games will be: RBI Baseball; Ring King; Blades of Steel; along with Kung Fu and Elevator Action. I anticipate likely adding additional titles as well, both on Nintendo as well as other game systems, such as Call of Duty on X Box 360.

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, though not necessary.

I will test her skills on each game before money changes hands.
That's almost as funny as the guy that will beat Mega Man for $20.

You don't see these pop up very often, let alone on Craigslist.  :o

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Not sure which is more surprising to me...seeing an actual  catbox on craigslist, or NBA Jam listed at $70.

Seeing a Catbox is like seeing a Skunkboard on Craigslist.  That's definitely not something that pops up, but for the price he's asking, I wonder if anyone in St Louis will bite.
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

I won't post the link since it's from Facebook, and many won't be able to access the page, but a local police station in my area just announced that they now have two "internet purchase exchange" locations at our local police stations.  The areas are meant for people who agree to make purchases or exchanges online.  It's meant to be a safe location at a police station in a well lit area with 24 hour video surveillance.  Kind of a neat idea.

I've been meeting at the SD police station for a while now.  It's a great way to alleviate tension, especially when making higher priced transactions.

In the open parking lot, yes. There's no law against exchanging goods in a public place. At least not here. And there are lots of cameras, not to mention lots of cops. I suppose they may have the right to ask what you're buying, but when video games is the transaction that's hardly a problem. I think ever since there have been some really awful Craigslist violence in the United States, law enforcement is trying to make it as safe as possible

Not only do they let us do it, now they are suggesting that we do it for our own safety.  I love the idea.

I once sold a truck I owned private party.  Since I sold it for $19k, we did the transaction at a bank.  The buyer handed the money straight to the cashier (I never even touched the money).  She counted it and gave the buyer a receipt and gave me a deposit receipt.  Everyone was happy and it was safer for both parties.  No one could argue whether or not the amount of money was legit or all there.

Also, I have to say, I had to laugh a bit when the buyer pulled out a roll of 19 grand worth of hundred dollar bills.   8)

that's cool, I thought you meant inside the station!

unfortunately, most car parks at UK cop shops are gated, no chance of exchanging there...
