Craigslist: the good, the bad, & the DERP!
Superchop:
So, for the past month or so I've seen a couple ads for gba's for $35 each lot (will post up pics in the pick up thread). Finally I decided to just email the guy and see if he'd take $50 for both. He emails me back saying that he has a few systems for sale and that I should go to his house to make a deal...he sends me his address and phone number. Feeling really uncomfortable with that I almost ignore the email...but I replied back saying that I'd rather meet up in a public place and that I was only interested in the gba's. I also told him that I won't meet up unless we come to an agreement about price and location.
He replied back pretty quickly and agreed to the amount and also to meet up at a local walmart. So after I leave work I head over to the walmart and wait for him to come by. The guy drives up in his car (older man in his late 40's or 50's), doesn't get out and looks nervous as he's looking around...he hands over the gba's in plastic ziplock bags says everything works and drives away almost instantly after I hand him the money. It almost felt like a drug deal and part of me thinks that if I was any younger or naïve I might have gotten kidnapped or something.
But yeah, as uncomfortable as it was making that deal in a public area, I can only imagine how weird and uncomfortable it'd be at his home...
(also...1 gba doesn't work and at least 1 game isn't loading either :/ but maybe they just need a bit of tlc)

I just got this...$400 for 4 consoles and all games shown. Will post in the pickups thread, but basically this was a gamer in his 50s who was moving on. He based his price on what Gamestop would give him. I actually told him his stuff was worth a bit more, but he said he didn't care. He was happy to pass on the savings.
