So, there's this listing of a "huge" lot of games for which the seller is/was too lazy to add ANY pics or ANY description. Just "$300 firm, trust me, it's worth it."

Right.

So I bit and sent a text asking for pics. He/she says again, "trust me, it's worth it". I say "no, I don't trust that it's worth it for ME, plus you're 1.5 hours away, so I'm NOT coming out based on 'its worth it'".

He/she caves and sends pics. These are the pics.

Fucking seriously.

I didn't even know how to respond other than "Nevermind".

Let's hear the stories, folks!

Anyone in general that says something along the lines of "WILL PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR ALL NES, SNES, N64 GAMES" just always drives me crazy...I'd really be interested to see what would happen if someone walked in with like 3 copies of Earthbound. It would be like an episode of Pawn Stars.

Ah Yeah, nothing like dealers offering "top dollar" or flagging my WTB posts for a Sega CD.

I hate that every time I go search SNES or Nintendo 64 I get 50 ads that say paying top $ that just pisses me off. But hey Craigslist is free to post so any dumb ass with computer access will post just to fuck your day up!

However I did find a sweet deal that came together the other day.

Zelda OoT, Majoras Mask, Mario 64, Chef's Luv Shack, Mario Party 1 & 3 and Conker's Bad Fur Day for $60 and he drove to me! Lol! Worth dealing with bullshit for a deal like that.

Craigslist in my area is quite annoying...It seems like EVERYONE thinks what they have is worth a fortune and a lot of stuff is way over priced and nobody wants to budge or negotiate.  Luckily I'm not in the market for most of the stuff that people are selling but I have been trying to find a Dreamcast.

One guy in the town next over had one for sale.  It was a system with the cables a controller a sports game and some generator something or another discs.  He was asking 40 for everything but I didn't feel like that was a worth the price given there were no games and no mem card/vmu.  I might've been a bit of a douche by offering 20 but I was expecting him to negotiate a bit since I would've taken it for 30.  35 maybe but that was pushing it.  All I get is a response saying he won't lower the price and that the discount is already applied on the bundle, but reading the email it seemed like he was offended by my offer and seemed mad at me.  So I just sent him another email thanking him for his time and left it at that.

It's been over a month and that guy is still posting that ad along with many others...seems like no one else is biting and he might be sitting on it for a while...

The "I pay top dollar" ads piss me off to no end.  I report them all the time since they are posted in the FS section and they're obviously not. No idea if that's effective or not. Often there are 4 or 5 right in a row from the same person. So annoying.

I have zero concern over whether or not I put off or offend someone with my offers.  I feel like, if you can't handle someone haggling, then sell your shit on eBay or a local used shop.  One guy tried to sell me a Meo Geo X Gold for 150 after asking about something else he had that sold.

I was like "is it brand new?"  He goes "yes, I only played it once". So it's not new. Looked it up on amazon, they were $125 shipped at that point. Told him that and he goes "no, that's not be gold package". Took screen cap of it indeed being the gold package, sent it and offered 90 bucks. He never replied. Shocker.

Craigslist used to be good, but not anymore for me. People have crap and if they have something good for cheap, some douchebag tells them they have pricey stuff, then they change the price. AWESUM......... >_>

Ah, craigslist. Where would we be without you?

I've seen some interesting video-game related posts on CL in my day, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

There's one fellow I've met and continue to keep in contact with. He's an older guy who bought out a bunch of video stores a long time ago and has just had all these games sitting in storage. Anywho, I'm browsing craigslist one day and I noticed that a couple of games that he had (Mega Man 7 and Super Mario RPG, both with damaged labels) were being advertised for sale. I shot him an e-mail asking if it was his ad, but he tells me no and that he had sold those games earlier that afternoon. So someone probably bought MM7 for about 30 bucks from this guy and turned around and immediately put it up on craigslist, eventually selling it for $80.

It made me quite sad, actually.

There is not much ever on my local CL, but what is there is fairly reasonably priced, some deals can be found, not may over priced things. Been getting a lot of arcade cabnets, Kida wish i had space, there was 2 untended Neo Geos with a bunch of carts for $100 for both.

The Good:

I bought a Gamecube lot this weekend for $60. The lot includes: A Silver NGC, A Power Brick, A Broken AV chord, 3 Official controllers, A Game Stop controller, A Game Boy Player with Start Up Disc (My 3rd one  ;D ) 2 Memory Cards, and 15 games; LoZ Wind Waker CIB, Loz 4 Swards Adventures CB, Luigi's Mansion CIB,  SSB Melee CB, Wario World CIB, Mario Party 4 CIB, Pac Man Vs. /PMW 2 CB, Harvest Moon Magic Something ... C, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle C, Sonic Mega Collection CIB, and some other crap games, And a Cardboard Box.
I'm selling Wind Waker (With out the manuals) and Luigi's M to a friend for about $40. Mario Party 4 (With out the manuals) and SA2B are going too, idk where, maybe eBay or just trade them in to my local store.
(Perfect Segway)
I found my local retro game store Retro Games Plus on CL.
I also got a Atari 2600 Light 6'er, 32 Games, Power Cord, 2 Joysticks, Paddle Controllers, and a Game Organizer. for $40.

The (potentially) good:
There was a 9 console lot on thee for $500, it did not sell, it had some very good CIB SNES games I shot the guy a email asking if he still had it, he said "$375 and its all yours" I'm going to split he lot with a friend, he is trying to get a bunch of money by doing odd computer fixing jobs and selling some spare parts to get it, He is getting all the stuff I do not want/ already have. I get the SNES games, the GB games, and 1/2 of the NES games.

The bad:
Not many bad listings pop up, some things are over priced or crap, and i get the ocatonal "WILL PAY THE LEAST FOR YOUR GOLD" ads,

The DERP:
There has been a listing popping up from time to time in the Video Games section for "AROUND 1800 PORNO DVD'S" for $2000. Yay.

Can't make out the pictures.  Usually when someone says "trust me, it's worth it" my automatic response is to balk.

That's my point.  Those are the most useless pics ever.  All I can really see is a random box of atari games and a stack of what I assume are 360 sports games.

I saw an ad on CL for Nintendo power magazines AND 60's and 70's playboys...
That's what every kid wants. To look at nude girls that's thier grandmas age while playing games with partial walkthroughs in NP lol.

Also there's rarely a good deal on CL around here, there are TONS of "We buy you games with REAL CA$H!!"

-_-
