Replacing Dead SNES Batteries
mojoeskateco:
I've got a few carts I'd like to sell, however the batteries are dead and they no longer save. Also, over time I'm sure that a lot of my RPGs will stop saving as well.
I'd like to learn how to replace the betteries on my own and was wondering if these would do the trick.

I guess I'd have to learn how to solder. Havent done that since grade 12 electronics.

Yup. those will do it. The hardest part isn't the soldering, it's the desoldering. You're gonna want a desolder bulb at least and maybe some wick.
BadChad:
If you are going to replace your dead batteries, it might be wise to find yourself some CR2032 battery clips to install for easy battery replacement in the future. Just unsolder the old battery, solder in the battery clip, pop the battery in the clip and bam!
Someone might be able to help find some suitable clips that wont cause any instalation issues.

Here's a video showing how to replace a battery without soldering.

Just be careful, you don't want to ruin your copy of Pit Fighter XD

Please tell me that's not some video of a guy using electrical tape to put a battery in? :-\
