All This is footage from an unreleased Mega Man FPS game codenamed "Maverick Hunter." It was cancelled upon the departure of Keiji Inafune. At the time of cancellation it was at a very playable stage.

Hey this doesn't have anything to do with the cover project but I know I have seen allot of mega man enthusiasts so I thought I would show the cover project the footage. I thought it was kind of cool ;D. Tell me what you think of the Unreleased footage.

Ive heard about this.  When I first saw this I thought it was a fan mode for something else, but then later heard it was something capcom was working on.

I do like the holographic face stuff, but everything else isn't all that interesting.   I think if this game was finished it probably would not have been very good.

Eeeeeh... It looks cool, but it's not really Megaman. Of all the things that got cancelled around that time, I'm most willing to let this pass.

Before watching the vids, my comment was to be "hey, Metroid Prime didn't seem like a Metroid game, and then we all played it".

After watching the vids, it's more like "what on earth does that have to do with Megaman?!"

Environments don't look Megaman-like, Megaman doesn't look like Megaman, gameplay looks boring as snot and just as repetitive as almost every other "me too" FPS, etc.

Mark me down for "not so sad that this got canned".

looks like it had some potential but ya doesn't look like a mega man game really. Now if they made it more cartoony and cell shaded id be all over it =D

obviously that build doesn't have any Mega Man "skinning" to the enemies/environments. if it stayed dark and took place during the Elf Wars, and followed the "X goes Maverick" storyline, then yes, it would kick ass.

hell, at this point, I'd take Mega Man The Puzzle Fighters

Looks pretty awesome, too bad it got canned and the Megaman franchise is essentially dead :(

This comment alone warrants a *like* button. That was fucking epic!

yah, another dumb reboot for the fps reboot dark ages. it's a thing now with cancelled megaman games, but this prolly wouldn't have done anyone any good.

I remember first seeing it and thinking, "April Fools passed already."

After I gave it a chance, I thought, "Well, it wasn't a bad start." I'm okay with the concept. It needed a lot of refining, sure, but a FPS Mega Man game, or even better a MMX game, can potentially be good. Most people compared these videos to 1) Metroid Prime and 2) Bomberman: Act Zero. Could go either way.

Not that it matters. It was cancelled a while ago, and only just recently surfaced.

mega man I feel has seen its last days. I just can't see them making a new game and it appealing to todays market and I can't see a call of duty type megaman. It's appeal is its former glory with the 2d madness

well, capcom DID say that now that street fighter is done for the moment, we should all get ready to celebrate megaman's 25th anniversary in 2013 so i am kinda anticipating at least something. other than an old flash tribute they've claimed for their own.
