Just came in a couple days ago, thanks to JDavis for making me the cover.

(the reproduction G&W box is almost the exact size of a SNES cart btw, fits in the UGC perfectly)

  • Coffee... What would I do without you?
Picked up The Walking Dead Compendium One today. I've been reading it for the past 2 hours and about a quarter of the way through it... It felt like 15 minutes... Needless to say, my love for The Walking Dead has breached over from the TV Series and Telltale's game to the comics... Absolutely awesome!

I just picked up this SNES from a yard sale.....how could this have happened?

I need to clean it, it is having trouble booting carts, but it does power on.

SNES plastic is notorious in yellowing over time.

Actually I was in the market for a yellowed system, as those are more likely to contain the PPU that is capable of outputting True Component Video and has the APU....I was talking about the big gaping hole in the back.

basically if the SNES has an S-ENC/ba6594af chip, it outputs pure Component Video, all you have to do is wire up jacks. If it has a BA6592F, you need to build an amp circuit.

Nice, now I'll have to locate my SNES and gamebit, and open it to check.

I tell ya what, component SNS-001 isn't that impressive.  S-vid mini is better IMO.  I' did a component mod to one of mine and it's a lot less stellar than you might expect :(

The reason why the topic interests me is that while the SNES also outputs RGB...RGB is not readily used in the US...and it is easier to find a SD CRT TV that accepts 240p Component than to find one that accepts SCART.

Also, since the SNES Mini has better RGB than the early models, you can take a BA6592F (its an Off the shelf component), and put Component video in the SNES mini and it will be better than the fat SNES' native component.

Not quite a pick up but will lead to more pick ups in the future.
I most likely have a job at a Local non-chain Toy Store!
I am currently on a paid trial period, but it'd looking good so I there is a good chance to be hired full on.
I worked a full 10-hour shift today (Saturday) and I worked a 4-hour shift after school Friday. I do not work again until Thursday, but I ay work Tuesday if they need me.
Its fun working there, the bosses are nice, and it is a friendly environment, Friday all I did was price things with a price sticker gun, it was fun. Today I mostly rang some people up and sorted a isle of young kids board games and a few other things.
