RetroZone sells NES cart shells in a few colors for $5 each

NES and famicom games have a different number of pins and differences in the pin layout so simply switching the shell is no good (not to mention the boards would be loose and rattle around). There are some early NES games with pin converters that you could put a famicom board into, but you would have to find one of the carts first.

it is only 12 pins tho'
so 3 extra at each end SHOULDNT add too much to the width, at least not enough to make this impossible...

if everyone can hold on 'til saturday i MIGHT give this a try, finally put this question to rest...

the only problem would be getting carts in and out of front loader/toaster NES's
Blumpkin:
I have a few carts that could use replacement shells for the backside. $6 is pretty steep when I can just buy a pile of garbage sports games for the same price.
Megatron:
I feel the same, BUT I need front pieces, so the extra dollars is worth it to me if I don't have to scrub old labels off.
wiggy:
No need l scrub off labels. Pour some isopropyl into a shallow dish, soak carts overnight, labels basically fall off.

I do it all the time ;)
