Can't get marker off of a super nintendo cartridge

But why risk it?  Xylene is incredibly volatile stuff and other, safer products work just as well.  If it was all that worked, then I could see supporting cautious use, but 91% ISO has only failed me 2 or 3 times ever when trying to remove marker.  When that happens, 99% ALWAYS works.  Zero failure rate on it in my experience.

I worked used game retail for 7+ years and this was a company which (used to) ensure that customers weren't buying carts with crap written all over them.   I'm sure I've wiped "Mike" from at least 50 carts and countless other names over the years ;)

HAHAHA! I like that! ;)

Im a Goo Gone user myself. Ive never had any discolouration what so ever and I usually put a few drops directly on the area Im cleaning so it can soak in. Ive used it to remove stickers, residue and permanent marker on carts, jewel cases, ps2 cases, and even disc labels for PS1 and PS2 games. Ive even used it on NES and SNES labels which should be fine as long as the label is laminated and doesnt have any tears or rips the Goo Gone can sneak into. I do use a Magic Eraser too from time to time, but like wiggy said it is abrasive and any excesive scrubbing will result in loss of original texture. And there is the dry erase method aswell, which I find only works so well.

And a friend once told me Axe Body Spray apprerently works pretty well too but I wouldnt know.

I found that erasers work too depending on how bad it is

Brasso worked pretty well on my copy of "TMNT2". I also use it to get the corrosion off the contacts when I clean my games.
