| whats the best kind of paper to use when print custom covers? |

And the answer is: Everyone prefers their own. I use HP semi-gloss everyday photo paper. If you're American: Getting the in Legal size is hard (Letter is too small). I'm European so I use A4 size. |

Getting the size you need isn't at all hard in the US and we have access to all those same oddball sizes too like A3/4, Super B, etc. Here's an excellent source for good quality paper and they have free shipping + great prices. http://www.adorama.com/ I use this paper: http://www.adorama.com/IESS041605.html 100 sheets, 60 bucks. Each sheet gets you 2 UGC covers and 3 DS covers (when cut down into 8.5x13 and 6x13 respectively). That's means .30 per UGC and .20 per DS case. That's cheaper than most any middle-of-the-road legal-sized inkjet photo paper (which is all you'll find in legal size since it's not a size that photographers/artists use) and this stuff is 5-star archival paper. I can't recommend it enough. |

I'm using a Canon Pro 100 and finding that the Luster 69# LU-101 to be the best so far. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it though as I find it to be too good of paper for the task. It's basically photograph paper so it's kind of glossy and very thick. On the lookout for more stuff...I work down the hall from our company's print ops so I have access to hundreds of kinds of paper so I'll keep track of this thread and report back my findings if anyone cares. |
